After months of preparation, the newly formed enduro club, LEC, attracted a record number of riders to their first official enduro race at the weekend. The Horncastle based outfit used a local venue for their opener, at the nearby village of Ashby Puerorum. The clubs debut season couldn't have got off to a better start, with nearly 150 riders attracted to the well known track in the Lincolnshire wolds. The 6 mile course had been well planned over the previous weeks and included fast sections over fields, slower areas in woodland, and a few man made obstacles. The weatherman wasn't too kind to the riders and In the end, the storm predicted for the afternoon came a little early and played a part not only in the second race, but in the first race in the morning too. Whilst the conditions became a little testing with 15 mins to go in race one, the second race saw the wind, cold and rain in full swing and with many riders falling by the wayside, it almost became a case of "last man standing.
