WOR EVENTS SCE TIMECARD ENDURO RD 2 -2017
“Rob Reese took the overall honours at WOR Events latest SCE Timecard Enduro last weekend at the Clubs massive mountain based venue in Clatter, Mid Wales. A superb 12 miles per lap course and some great weather provided the basis for a great days riding high up in Welsh hillsides.
Rob on his Beta 300 was steady on all 5 special tests to take an eventual 12 seconds’ advantage overall on Runner Up, Gary Jenkins (Sherco). Jonny Jones was solid 3rd place in the Experts on his very smart looking Kawasaki albeit a further 11 seconds adrift of Jenkins. The Experts all completed 88 miles and where within a minute of their allowance on the tight final check, once again showing that WOR had timed the event to perfection when it comes to challenging the riders. Rik De Fue was top dog in the Expert Vets and set some very nice test times indeed allowing him to place in front of Runner Up, John Hunt.
Top Clubman was Alex Chesworth and he had to dig deep for that as it was so close at the sharp end of the results in this class. Chesworth, after 5 tests was 3 seconds clear of Jamie Carroll as Runner up and even closer was 3rd placed, Elgan Williams, only a second behind Carroll. Real close stuff.
Kev Rogers from Shrewsbury was in fine fettle too as he took the Clubman Vets win by 36 seconds from Kevin Wallace in second place with Darren Skillin taking 3rd spot a further 8 seconds down on Wallace.
The Over 50 group this year at WOR is dominated by Colin Griffiths, riding his 350f KTM, the likeable big bloke is certainly stamping his authority on the group with win after win. He topped the class from nearest Rival, Garry Parr, with a massive 53 second advantage after 4 tests. The 3rd spot in group going to Ian Coburn, Coburn actually tied with Parr on times but Parr got the advantage courtesy of a faster final test.
Connor Bollsover, Gareth Jones and Paul Thomas made up the top 3 in the
Sportsman class in that order with Bollsover and Jones setting Expert level
times (albeit on 2 laps less and 1 test less) and ensuring the next round for
them is in the Clubman class at least.
Jac George was the main man in the Youth class with some cracking test times as was the two riders chasing him down, George Yardley in second place and Dan Leadbetter in a solid 3rd spot in his first ever Timecard Enduro.
The feedback from all the riders was 100% positive with nothing but praise for the event and the way it was ran. Everything went to plan and a lot of happy faces left a sun kissed paddock for their journeys home.
WOR would as always like to thank all of the staff, medics, caterers, sponsors and most importantly the riders, for supporting the event and making it happen.
The next Timecard event and final round of this series is on July 23rd back in the Forest.
