Aveyronnaise Classic 2017 - 2017

Marc Bourgeois Claims Strong Runner-Up Result

Putting in a strong performance despite his lack of training prior to the event, Marc Bourgeois secured a close runner-up result at the 2017 edition of the three-day-long Aveyronnaise Classic Enduro in France. Enjoying a strong day one, Marc provisionally took control of the race by winning day two. Entering the third and last day of competition in Baraqueville as the provisional overall leader, Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team's official representative had to settle for a close runner-up result finishing 1,3 seconds behind Jérémy Tarroux. Wrapping up the event on a high note, Marc showed that together with his duties as a team manager he is still fast and competitive as an enduro racer himself.

Marc Bourgeois - Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team manager

"It was a great event for me and I was surprised by the fact I was able to be battling for the top step of the podium. I made a wrong selection of mousses on day one and had to dig deep to post some competitive times. Improving my times as the day went on I managed to get a great result at the final cross test. Then on day two everything worked fine. I had a great feeling on my WR250F so I could manage to push for the victory and the overall lead. My goal for the third and last day was to retain my lead in the overall, but a crash cost me some precious time. Jérémy had a very good pace so he managed to get the victory. To finish the three-day-event one second behind the winner is a great result. It was good to take a break from my duties as a team manager but we'll be soon starting our preparations for the ISDE and it's going to be a very busy month for all of us.”

The Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team will return to action at the 2017 International Six Days Enduro that will take place in Brive, France on August 28 to September 2. With Loïc Larrieu selected to represent France, it's promising to be a busy week for the Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team. The team are also excited to welcome two members of the Japanese team for this year's ISDE.
