finish for Alex Snow
With most races for the season finished a while ago the BEC contenders had to keep there eyes on the prize for the late, but much anticipated Muntjac hosting the final round of the British Enduro Championship.
With the weather on side, all but the -2 temperatures on Sunday morning! The riders had Thetford Forest at its prime, a great special test and fast flowing sandy going made it an enjoyable day for most.
Buildbase Honda racing's Alex Snow entered the day eager to get back to racing after a pre-longed end of the season, which showed in his performance and results. He entered the final round in 6th place in the outright Championship (4th E2). Alex new he had to secure 3 points or more to beat his nearest competitor TM rider Josh Gotts. Although the first test started off a little slow for Snow he soon picked up the pace putting in consistently top 3 times through out the day. With serval back-to-back test Snow showed some of his Motocross experience on the ever roughening corse to pass his nearest competition to place him a comfortable 3rd.
After the 7 special tests had finished the riders where then faced with the notorious two tight time checks on the final two laps. Snow just had to stay on time on these final two laps to claim his first BEC podium which he did quite comfortably ending the day 3rd (2nd E2). This was also enough to claim 5th overall in the series and 3rd in the E2 class.
"Today has been so much fun. It's by far the most enjoyable one I have done this season and it clearly showed in my result. Really happy to get a podium along side 2 of the best guys in the world at the moment so for me it was a great achievement. It been a fun learning curve all year and can't wait to get back to it again next year. Big thanks to Dave, all at the workshop, Honda and of corse all the sponsors that have helped us this this project this year, it's much appreciated." Commented Snow
Snow can now enjoy a few weeks break before starting 2018 preparations.
