International Motocross - Hawkstone Park

7th March 2010

www.hawkstonemx.co.uk

Once again the time is fast approaching and the Hawkstone International Motocross is nearly upon us. This is the 13th consecutive year the race has run at the famous Shropshire track and will take place this year on the 7th March 2010. As always the line-up is spectacular with some of the best riders from around the World and the British Motocross scene will join together in a battle to see who will become victorious.

American star Mike Alessi is hoping to put on a fantastic show despite a shoulder injury he sustained in Italy a month back. The young American will be racing the all new 350 Jagermeister KTM on UK soil and it is expected to gain a lot of interest and people will be keen to see how the fast American will fare in the MX1 class.

Fresh from his win at the French International young and super fast Ken Roczen will make his UK debut on board the TEKA Suzuki. The youngster has been a force to be reckoned with in previous years and is sure to become one of the favourites in the World GP scene this season. On a roll at the minute he will be out to prove a point at the fantastic Hawkstone track.

Hot on his heels will be home talent Red Bull KTM rider Shaun Simpson who will be there to ensure that he will be number one on the day. The young Scots man will be eager to get a good result on one of his few visits to British soil this year, Simpson has already started the season strongly in Italy and France and he will be hoping to carry on this run of form at Hawkstone. Simpson, now fully fit, is sure to be one of the top contenders in the World MX2 Championship this year and the Brits will be cheering him on all the way!

The crowd will have plenty more to cheer about with the British pack being led by MX1 2009 Champion Brad Anderson and former British Champion and crowd favourite Carl Nunn. A whole host of other Brits fill the field with James Noble, Ray Rowson, Martin, Barr, Jordan Rose, Wayne Smith, Lewis Gregory, Elliott Banks-Browne, Lewis Tombs and 2009 Masters Champion Kristian Whatley will all be battling for top positions.

Tickets are £20 on the gate and under 14's go free, camping is £20 per pitch and action starts at 9am, parking is free.
