The Dragons fly South

Dyfed Dirt Bike Club members Rhys George, Gareth Jones & Alun Jones are traveling to Chile this week to compete in the 2018 International Six Day Enduro which kicks off on the 12th November at Viña del Mar. Rhys (pictured right) rode his first ISDE last year in Brive France and he brought home a finishers medal. For the Jones boys 2018 will be their first Six Days

Alun Jones is a 29 year old builder from Blaenau Ffestiniog and a double Welsh Expert Champion. At British Enduro Championship level he has achieved runner up status in the Experts and an overall win in the Expert 125cc class. In the Welsh 2 Day Alun has 5 podium finishes in the Expert and Expert twinshock classes. He was inspired to compete as a youngster by watching the World's Best riding in the 2008 WEC at Llanidloes. Alun said "Thank you to Steve Plain, Andrew Edwards and my Old Man for their support over the years and also a big thank you to Dyfed Dirt Bike Club and Eirwyn George for giving me the opportunity to ride in the ISDE."

31 year old Gareth Jones is Alun's older brother with two British Clubman Championships under his belt. He has 2 targets - finishing and beating his brother. He said "Being a Proud Welshman my goal is to finish. Thank you Steve Plain, Kriega, DDBC, Michelin and Beta UK."

Rhys George is an aircraft engineer and farmer from Llansawel. The heat and dust of the 2017 ISDE in Frsnce was a tough baptism but Rhys made it home. He said "Thank you firstly to my Uncle Eirwyn George who gave me my 1st bike. Secondly I'd like to thank Alun
Davies for pushing me to keep going in the early endures and not giving up, Lastly but not least thanks to Dyfed Dirt Bike for giving me the chance to ride my second ISDE. Firstly I would like to finish and do the best I can for the club If I manage to get a gold medal I'd be over the moon."

All 3 riders will be mounted on Betas. Watch out for Alun Jones RR250 (624), Rhys George RR300 (724) & Gareth Jones RR300 (824).

All the Best.
