France Enduro Championship
Round 2 - 21st/22nd June
Return to Scaer
After 4 years of absence, Brittany is back in the French Enduro
Championship Calendar. After successfully organizing 3 rounds in 2002, 2004
and 2010, the town of Scaer and it's motorcycle club, the Green Moto Scaer,
are hard at work preparing for the 2nd round of the 2014 Championship on
Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June.
Claude Postic, longtime president of Scaer Moto Verte, talks about his
plans: "We are a very lively and active club. With our team of
volunteers, we have already organized several French Championship rounds and
we regularly organize your own series. We are all passionate, and despite 24
years of the club, we are not yet worn out and count in our ranks of
volunteers of all generations. For this event we wanted to make the race
very accessible for spectators. The 2 Km special test will be very close to
the town of Scaer and with 3 specials it's will be the most spectacular,
Safety will also be a priority. The 70 km lap - weaved around a single check
- will be wearing, especially in the first loop where the riders will find a
lot of stones in a wooded and hilly course. "

Paddock talk
There will be a good entry of 330 registered riders including a large
Elite class ensuring that - despite the absence of an injured Antoine Meo -
it will once again a grand spectacle.
E1, Christophe Nambotin (KTM) leads the way with an 8 points lead ahead
of Marc Bourgeois (Yamaha). but the leader of the championship, - who also
dominates the World championship - should be wary of the runner up who made
his life so difficult in Uzerche where he finished the day just 3 seconds
behind Nambotin. Anthony Boissiere (Sherco Moto Pulsion) is level on points
with Bourgeois and he could also prove to be a difficult customer if he
finds his rhythm early in the day.
Category E2 will suffer from the absence of KTM rider Antoine Meo, who
was seriously injured during the Grand Prix of Finland. Pela Renet will be
the odds on favourite to win the classification. However, Julien Gauthier (Sherco
Moto Pulsion) will be back and recovered from the shoulder injury which kept
him out of the opening round. The other man in form is Romain Dumontier. 3rd
overall, the Yamaha rider will keen to play his part..
E3, The battle between Jeremy Joly (KTM) and Matthias Bellino (Husqvarna)
will continue. Joly will be defending his 6 points lead -
since Uzerche, the two men have faced off at the World championship in
Finland and it is the Husqvarna rider who got the best results. Also rely on
Antoine Basset (GasGas) and Manu Albepart (Beta) to animate this category.
The Junior category is poised on a knife's edge. The top six drivers have
only 4 points separating them .so Jérémy Carpentier (EC2M-Honda) in 6th,
is still very close to the leader Jérémy Mirror (EEAT-Yamaha), Theo
Bazerque (Sherco Academy) failed to capitalize on his victory Saturday in
Uzerche and occupies the fourth place in the standings on equal points with
Sylvain Fournier (Sherco Academy). Before them is Anthony Geslin (EEAT-Yamaha)
in third position and Mika Barnes (KTM) second.
Finally, the girls Champion Geraldine Fournel (Sherco Academy) began his
season in the best possible way by winning both days in the opening round
but she sustained a knee injury in Finland The situation could benefit
her closest competitors Juliette Berrez (Yamaha) or Samantha Tichet
(Motorcycle Club Lozérien).
