PAUL ARMSTRONG WINS OVER 50’S BRITISH ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIP

Hi Guys, Just felt the need to put pen to paper this week after being told that I have just won the over 50’s class in the 2014 ACU Edmondson Racing British Enduro Championship, as you can imagine after having had a motorcycling career in Trials, motocross & enduro spanning 40 years, this is the biggest accolade I have ever received & can’t quite believe it.

I entered the first 2 rounds at Tetbury back in March only because so many other events had been cancelled due to all the rain, I was blown away when I managed to win both days quite comfortably & then found myself completely obsessed with riding the rest of the series with some stiff competition coming from Robert Murfin & David Johnson. After winning the first 6 rounds & coming 2nd in the very wet & slippery 7th round at Rhayader I have now had it confirmed that I have accumulated enough points to claim the championship win.

I took over one of Daryl Bolter’s KTM 350 EXC’s last year & had Dr Shox (Chris Hockey) breath on the suspension at the beginning of the year, this along with Nigel at Inchains Ringwood maintaining the bike after every event, this has given me the best all round machine money can buy in my opinion.

I would like to send out a very big thank you to all the people who have supported & helped me this year who include : The Rangers from Enduro Tyres, All at Inchains, The Crescent KTM support Crews, David Stokes Team, My son Brad & most importantly my wife Nicky who has had to clean all the gear for 30 years, lastly I would also like to congratulate Derrick Edmondson & all the clubs that have supported & laid on this fantastic series & hope a few more riders will read this & give the BEC’s a go as they are just the best.

Thanks for reading.

A Very Happy Paul Armstrong.
