ACU Edmondonson British Enduro Championship – What an eventful year for both of the Colwyn Bay KTM UK riders, Brad managed to claim his first British title in the 125cc class. He started the year with the bang, making the move from the expert class into the championship class this year could have been a tall order but Brad took it all in his stride and won the first day of the first round and won every consecutive day since. Mixing it with the overall championship leaders gaining a provisional top 5 overall in the championship, not a bad run for the first year with the big boys……. Tom’s year was to be a little more of a challenge, with Junior World Champion Daniel McCanney joining the BEC for 2014, he was tipped to be a top contender. Two solid second places at the first round gave Tom some good points to start the season with. The championship headed to Wales for the middle of the season, Tom was in his element wining four days straight along with the mixture of second places meant Tom had claimed the Overall British Title with a round still left to go, and a full score of 20 points per round claimed the E2 capacity class title too. ACU British Sprint Championship – Tom has never warmed to the sprint championship, he’s more of a get on the bike and ride for hours rather than stopping and starting type of person! So when he finished 3rd overall both days at one of Britain’s well known MX courses, to two world championship riders he thought this might be his year. He continued his battle with Danny and battled to claim a second overall in the Elite class. Brad’s had a mixed performance at the sprints, having a close battle with Freestyle’s Joe Wooton at every round.
Brad commented “I’ve had a great year, I’ve exceeded my own expectations. I found the Europeans challenging, but really enjoyable, the transition from the Expert class to the championship class in the British was a step up, riding with the best in the country, the class felt right and everything seem to drop into place. I’ve had a really good battle with Joe in the sprint series, and we’ve had some challenging courses. The support I’ve received this year from the sponsor’s and the public has been overwhelming, and I can’t thank everyone enough, I’m looking forward to the 2015 season”. Tom commented “Wow what I year, I really didn’t think at the start of the season I was going to retain my British title, but somehow I’ve manage it. After my DNF in Spain I knew I wouldn’t be able to win the overall European title, I’m happy I finished second and retained my E2 class title, roll on next year and maybe luck will be on my side. Thank you all for your support, I couldn’t have done it without you, these titles are yours as much as mine”. Titles:- ACU Edmondson British Enduro Championship overall title.
