RANSON RACING TEAM
2014 SEASON REVIEW

2014 has again proved to be a strong season for the team of eight riders with a number of notable successes. The team was established two years ago to support younger riders in their aspirations to progress in the sport. For 2014 the team consisted of:-
Adam Ranson – 450 Honda
David Stevens – 250 Kawasaki
Ross Taylor – 250 Honda
Tom Sargent – 450 Suzuki
Martin Stevens – 250 Kawasaki
Ed Pooley – 250 Kawasaki
Rob Aldridge – 250 Kawasaki
Dan Willis – 250 Honda

Ross Taylor rode a superb series of events to take the win in the GH Motorcycles, Husqvarna Eastern Centre Clubman Enduro Championship, with two event wins and strong finishes in all rounds. Ross improved his speed throughout the season, as evidenced by his wins in the final two rounds. He now looks forward to contesting the Expert class in 2015. Other results in the Clubman class saw Tom Sargent finish in 5th place, Ed Pooley in 7th place, and Rob Aldridge in 11th place. A strong team performance overall.
In the Expert Class, David Stevens finished 5th in the GH Motorcycles, Husqvarna Eastern Centre Championship, a creditable result for his first year in the higher class after progressing from Clubman.

In the Dave Barkshire Motorcycles Two Man Enduro Championship Clubman class, Ed Pooley and Rob Aldridge had an excellent series win. Their results would have seen them strongly placed in the Expert class.

In the Two Man Expert class David & Martin Stevens had a strong finish to the season and finished in 2nd place. Tom Sargent and Ross Taylor held on to 2nd place all year, but Ross Taylors fall and resulting broken wrist in the final round saw them finish in 5th place.
Championship Class rider Adam Ranson contested the Lincolnshire Enduro Championship where he finished with a 3rd place overall, and a 3rd place in the Dave Barkshire Motorcycles Two Man Enduro, Championship class.

Tom Sargent contested the Welsh 2 Day Enduro, the Knighton British Championship, and The Natterjack Enduro with solid finishes in them all. He is now looking forward to a full season of British Championship events in 2015. Adam Ranson and Ross Taylor will also be competing in the Welsh 2 Day, with Adam also taking in selected BEC events.

Newest team member Dan Willis finished the season strongly in the Two Man Championship and has shown he is getting faster with every event.

Diss MCC Annual Enduro Trophy Awards were won by Adam Ranson in the Championship class, David Stevens in the Expert class, and Ross Taylor in the Clubman class.

The team supported the Inter Centre Team Enduro event with Ross Taylor, Martin Stevens and David Stevens competing in their first Welsh Forestry event. A great experience for all!

Ross Taylor, Ed Pooley, Rob Aldridge, Tom Sargent and Dan Willis have taken in a few Moto Cross events to improve special test speed! Ross and Ed recorded top 3 moto finishes at Wattisfield and Blaxhall.

The team is now looking forward to contesting the final British Enduro Championship event in Thetford Forest in November, though Ross is ruled out due to his broken wrist. A return to the saddle as course marshal may be possible!

Looking ahead to 2015 it is planned for the season to include a mix of local Eastern Centre, Welsh 2 Day, and British Enduro Championship events. Recent exciting news is the addition of a new sponsors for 2015 in the shape of GH Motorcycles and Duck Smart, the lads can’t wait to get the bikes dirty!

The whole team would like to thank the following for their 2014, and continued support.
