Ardua Bagshot

Report Teamsnapper
The Guys and Gals from The RAF certainly know how to make an Enduro loop
and with the amount of rain lately it was never going to be easy but they
put in an amazing 9 mile loop that had many hard and easy routes and many
climbs of various sizes and structure but more importantly kept out of the
very deep water bogs, with a full grip of 150 riders of which 15 or so had
travelled up from Cornwall and the West Country, and from the feedback after
the event it was deemed as one of the best loops ever done at Bagshot.
Championship Class
A very good class with young guns, Old boys and MX aces but it was the much
travelled first timer at Bagshot Josh Gotts who stole the show and threw
down the gauntlet from the off on his new TM250 and with his Dad giving him
updates each lap he totally controlled the race and was not really
challenged and was very much the worthy winner, Rich Ely did his best to
catch and put up a good show but today he had to settle for runners up spot,
3rd Julian Harvey who had to work hard to for the final podium and managed
to pass Jack Turner 4th in the closing stages, and not far behind in 5th was
Kyle Jacobs.
Expert Class
Conditions and track layout i knew suited Mark “The Kirbinator” Kirby
and it was visible from his body language he was up for a fight whoever
wanted to contest him but what i and he did not see on the radar were the
young hot shots Luke Rudd and Dan Mundell who threw down the gauntlet to The
Kirbinator early on, Dan took the lead and was pretty much in control until
he threw a chain on the last lap and had to go back to the pits to get tools
and run back and luckily he got a 5th as a token gesture after such hard
work, but today was Luke’s day and held out for the victory with The
Kirbinator in 2nd and very close on his tail was his son and heir Josh Kirby
who was riding with such aggression and mettle simply because the old man
was in his sights, one thing i know is that it was great spectator racing,
4th Jack Nixey whom was only a short way behind Josh’
Veteran Class
Cornish man don’t come any tougher than Enduro legend Jack Twentyman whom
of recent events has reinvented himself and is absolutely flying and today
he was unstoppable and always good to hear his shouts and rants through the
dense woods and took the win with relative ease and i think that the Ol ‘Boy
is going to have a very good season, runner up was British Veteran Champion
Paul Armstrong on Daryl Bolters last year’s machine and got off to a great
start and seemed to be dropping back towards the end and came under serious
threat from Graham Reid 3rd but Paul reacted and got the runners up spot,
4th and another great result from Daz Lee who seems quite lazy and over
relaxed on a bike and coming back after a year out with injury proves how
looks can deceive, 5th Steve Bird who did have couple of partings away from
his machinery but never less made the top 5.
Clubman Class
SEEC Hare n Hounds and Timecard Champion 2014 Brad Warton made a great start
to 2015 with class victory and lap times equal to top 6 in experts, runner
up and best i have seen him ride was John Muizelaar whom simply got out of
bed the right side, ate his oats and was simply up for it and in these
conditions i thought he would not relish but totally proved me wrong and was
my rider of the day, 3rd Kev Wallace who worked hard to catch and pass
Darren Perry 4th, 5th was John Gilbertson.
Sportsman Class
Not a fan of sand baggers but most events have them and there is no way a
Sportsman rider could do 5 laps at Bagshot in these conditions so i am not
going to bother to write report.
