"WOR Events produced another piece of superb Extreme Enduro action last Sunday as the Tough One Little Brother (TOLB) returned to the iconic Nantmawr Quarry for a stand alone event but also as a prelude for the big, main Tough One that's on its way in early March.

Amazing, Blue, sunny sky's greeted the huge line up of riders and spectators that filled the quarry and the day's format of two action packed races got underway at 10 am sharp with the Sportsman race.

THE SPORTSMAN RACE

Brian Till was the main man in this race as he led from start to finish and showed the rest of the riders a clean pair of heels as his 5 minute advantage over runner up Luke Owen showed.

Doncaster based youngster Luke was going really well though and literally for the race duration swapped places with Joseph Till, Brian's Brother as they battled hard for 2nd and 3rd place on the Sportsman Podium.

Eventually Owen won the dual by 20 odd seconds. Great racing.

The Sportsman Veteran class was topped again by Andrew Mills whom will shortly be celebrating his great run of form with move up out of the Sportsman Group. Mills was a full lap clear of runner up Andy Jones with a very tired but determined Stephen Cooper taking 3rd spot.

Ryan Cox topped the Novice group with a result that would have seen him 5th in the Sportsman group, he was going that well, Runner up was Ryan Crayston with a very spirited ride indeed to remain ahead of 3rd placed Luke Hadwin.

Stand out ride of the morning race though must go to young William Stansbie, on his little 85cc in the Youth Class, he was flying and making very light work of the TOLB challenges that lay in his wait. He topped the group on 9 laps with runner up Aiden Ferrell having a great ride in 2nd place and Sion Jones on his little KTM 85 also going great guns for third spot.

After the 2 hour morning race it was a swift rider trophy session and a track tidy up then straight into the 2 hour main race of the day.

THE EXPERT & CLUBMAN RACE

CF RACING Husqvarna riders, Owain and Gethin Humphreys were once again the riders to beat in this tough event. Just like at the Sucker Punch Extreme back in November, the Brothers took control at the front of the race after passing 1st lap leader, Michael Gorst, with Owain on the 350 being the rider that was to take the Expert and event overall win as he pipped his Brother by 58 seconds to the win.

A further 4 minutes down from runner up Gethin was Gary Daniels, making it a Husqvarna top 3 on the podium as his super smooth an dfeet up style got him in at the sharp end of the results. Ryan Staveley rode really well too in his first WOR Event in a long time as he was the only other rider to complete 14 laps and match the top 3 riders laps tally.

Beta mounted Expert Veteran rider, Mick Boam was in fine form and led from start to finish over the quarries gnarly terrain as he took the class win from Ross Hall in 2nd place by 1 minute and 20 seconds. Hall was not hanging around either and matched Boam's 13 laps with the third spot going to Alex Owen from Doncaster on 12 laps. Alex making sure he got to take a trophy back home like his son Luke had done in the earlier race in the Sportsman class.

Over in the highly competitive Clubman class it was Will Emery that won the group with a strong 3 minute lead over runner up , Reese Langhorn with 16 year old, Dan Mundell doing his first Extreme event and going superb to take third spot. Mundell is going to be one to watch for the future, that is for sure. All 3 riders achieved 12 laps each.

Triple D KTM racing owner, Neil Crayston was in good form as he topped the Clubman Veteran class from fellow Cumbrian rider, Anthony Crowe with the flying locksmith, Barry Boustead in a solid 3rd spot.

All the riders rode really well to tackle what was being thrown at them and the fact is that no one knows how to put on an Extreme Enduro quite like Steve Ireland and his WOR team and it showed in the superb atmosphere and planning of the event., if the forthcoming Tough One is anything like it's little brother a fantastic event certainly lays in wait.

As always the WOR team wish to thank all involved in making these events so successful, Land Owners, medics, staff, caterers ,spectators and most importantly the brave and hardy, skill full riders that take part in the races.
