Daryl's
RORE-ing success
Rogers Hill Raceway,
22nd March 2015
First event of the year for RORE and what a great entry with an excellent
Championship class of 11 riders, lap of 6 miles with that cross country
theme of fast and flowing areas and a few hazards to mix things up.
Championship Class
Daryl Bolter was in magnificent form today despite being out on his practice
bike but plain to see his fitness is good and up to speed in preparation for
the season ahead and took the win by 1 extra lap over runner up Bradley King
who really did try and keep with Bolter and by that edged away from 3rd spot
Tom Ellwood whom was out on his brand new bike this weekend and hopefully
has found a good set up no, 4th and another sterling ride from the
Cornishman Kyle Jacobs, 5th Ashley Scott whom to me rode faultlessly and
very much the styler out there, Good to see the CORE club represented in all
classes and Jack Penhaligan was their Championship entry and went back to
Cornwall with 7th place, Bed Hair Hawker took 8th place with his usual
display of wreckless riding and his continued lack of personal hygiene and i
can now understand why his lovely wife prefers sleeping in the stables, 9th
Ben Scott will be a bit miffed being beaten by sibling Ashley especially i
saw him tampering with Ashley’s bike pre race :-0 10th went to Jason Bowen
whom i saw very little of due to his very dull, lack of creativity riding
kit..... did anyone else see a very fast but small man dressed like a
Satsuma ?, 11th and very surprised Steve (What Perm) Harding as sure he was
running a lot higher than his finishing position dictates.
Expert Class
Have always rated and ranted about Dominic Thomas and today he did not let
me down with class victory and a show of speed and skill equally mixed and
does not seem to have weak point, runner up also on 12 laps along with
Dominic was Bradley Rowland, 3rd RAF rider The Shadow Adam Senior who was in
superb form with 11 laps completed, 4th Steve O’Keefe with his amazing air
show, 5th Gary McCoy also on 11 laps and very much the showman but i was
expecting more from Gary until i found out he had dropped his hole punch
gun, Jonny White i feel would be slightly pissed that The Shadow beat him
but as a consolation he gets my award for save of the day as so nearly
looped it, 8th Wayne Player whom will be pleased he beat Paul Armstrong 10th
but on Paul’s defence he is a fat fucker at the moment and was up late
eating pies and pizza so don’t get too excited Wayne, 9th Karl Langford
who needs to ride more as looks like a scolded cat at the start but by half
way he is more like Fucked Ferret, 11th Niles Reid with 11 laps, 12th Bud
Benney who might not be god’s gift to woman or be the fastest rider out
there or the most intelligent but what he does have is ...... not sure
really but please let me know if you know something i don’t, Boy band
wanna be Jack Spracklen also did 11 laps but had a couple of groupies
hassling him on track which he stated “Took me out of my zone”, 14th
Mike “Wahoo” Harlow who will simply be wallowing in victory over fellow
CORE riders Matt “A women’s work is never done” Ward 17th, Slim “Scared
of Heights” Tyrone 18th and Toni (Spelt with an i Mate) Burrows 19th, Jack
Hooper 20th seems to have borrowed Russ Johns book of Race excuses.
Veteran Class
Steve Elford MX veteran put on a great show of talent with the cross country
fast course suiting his skills and ability which helped him muscle past Andy
Claxton who was on his comeback ride after surgery and will be pleased with
runners up spot, 3rd Peter King who had a great battle with Amped rider Tim
Cotton 4th, 6th Simon Thomas who was the last rider with 11 laps, 7th
Quintin McLaughlin whom is a great guy but chose his own path in life and
that path leads to a place we all fear and dread and pray that we do not
stray this way in our lives, so when you see Quintin at events give a second
glance as i am sure this will help you all stay clear of Pie Shops, Pizza
Parlours and Greasy Cafes, 9th Mito UK’s Steve Cook with 10 laps, 11th
Wayne Tipton also on 10 laps, a battered Geoff Brigden in 12th , Steve
Dagger looking better every time i see him and a well earned 10 laps, Steve
Taylor also completed 10 laps despite being concussed the day before at
Ashdown Farm after being hit by a rock which makes me think he is either
Rocky or Psycho, Cornishman Dave Brignall completed 10 laps, Michael Brooks
somehow ended the race with a cleaner bike than he started which tells me a
lot about him and now wonder whether he lives in a caravan ;-) Great to see
TM my favourite bikes represented by Neil Fripp with 9 laps completed, Neil
Marshall looked mega stylish but somehow ended way down in the results,
Nathan Daniels was simply an embarrassment to his son whom i feel will be
looking through Ebay for a new father or role model.
Clubman Class
Very competitive top 3 for the Clubman win with all completing 11 laps with
Jack Sherwin taking top honours from Graham Reid and Scott King
respectively, 4th Tim Hewlett and 5th on 10 laps was teenager Liam Bartlett
who has very much upped his game, 6th Shaggy The Showman Mulliner and as
always loves to play up for the camera and keeps me amused, 7th Ross Curtis
who always looks like he is mega fast and committed but somehow results say
otherwise but love his style, 8th Brett Moore Jnr will be a happy lad after
beating fellow RAF rider Sean Delaney 9th and Dad Brett Moore Snr 11th ,
10th Ady Matthews with 2 top 10 finishes over the weekend which is a
testament to his fitness and mental attitude, 12th Daniel Dicker who by his
own admissions was not at the races today but he had raced Saturday as well
at Ashdown along with Ady, 13th Jason Naruzewicz with 10 laps representing
the RAF, 15th Mark Bartlett who rides a damn sight better than his position
says and very much text book style as well as a beautiful bit of Beta kit,
Paul “Never fall off “ Feltham has made serious progress as only saw him
fall off twice and is looking so much more confident, Richard Swaffield had
a great consistent ride with 10 laps completed as did Stu Bowers but
probably feeling the effects after a while since his last competitive ride,
Pete Nash had a bad start after being punted off and had to make repairs but
still enjoyed his day and laps, Nathan Baggott finished an event which is
good news but to be out of the top 20 is not so good or did you push the
bike round ;-) Tom Vandy like his team mate Jason Bowen went un-noticed so
if you do see a pair of Satsuma’s (One large and one small) please get in
contact, and finally..... although a finish is a finish whichever way you
look at it and that does mean a personal victory ... well not in the case of
long time friend Gary Joynson who came in a good while after everyone else
had gone home... which made him LAST
Sportsman Class
West Country’s Jordan Brigden took top honours with Lewis Ranger runner up
on his debut ride both completed a credible 10 laps a piece which at this
level is top draw, 3rd with 9 laps Emily Hall who has yet again made vast
improvements since I last saw her, 6th the blonde bombshell Nick Windsor,
7th Dan Ford all the way from Cornwall with 9 laps completed, Zac King 8th
which was a good result as rode Saturday as well at Ashdown Farm, 9th Harry
Burt whom looked great early on but about midway his shoulders seem to drop
and body language was a bit down trodden, 10th Dave Legge who seemed to be
having fun and was consistent lap after lap and dare i say seems to be
getting fitter, 11th and have to say best i have seen him ride was David
Wright and was on new machinery a beautiful Beta and looked a different
rider to me, 12th Core top girl Hannah Clarke who left pretty disappointed
as bike had a mechanical woe which she dealt with skilfully and positively
but cost her a definite top 5, Jay Tipton 13th with 9 laps completed, 14th
to young Adam Moore whom simply loves to be out on his bike which is clear
to see and is becoming more proficient every time out, 15th Andy Curtis also
on 9 laps, Rich Truscott was making his comeback ride and put up a good show
despite riding with a nasty shoulder injury, Simon Colvin completed 8 laps
and also a much improved rider, Peter Mainhardt made the long journey from
Portsmouth and completed 6 laps.
