"WOR Events did what it said on the tin last Sunday as the club
produced a cracking format of open practice and two,1 hour Moto Duro races
that were on a more flowing and open track at Baden Hall than the normal 6
miles technical loop that this venue offers. The Moto Duro track was
3.5miles in length and was subjected to a very heavy overnight downpour,
This made for a very slippery race 1 and then as the Sun came out, a very
quickly drying track was in perfect condition for race 2.
Craig Reynolds took a break from his usual MX schedule to ride at the WOR
Events Moto Duro and bagged the overall win with pair of runner up finishes
in the Expert Class. Craig used to ride all the Hare Scrambles with WOR up
until 3 years ago when he changed his focus to MX, He returned showing he
has forgotten none of his knowledge of riding in the woods and rougher
terrain of Hare Scrambles Enduro.
Yamaha mounted, Reynolds saw off competition from Alex West and Josh Law
with 2 consistent rides that secured him the vital points for the win. West
took race one on the 300 CF Racing Husqvarna but after battling a throat
infection all week prior, he was burned out in race two whilst leading and
was forced to DNF. Josh Law took a 4th and 1st place and claimed 2nd place
overall on the 300 Sherco. Third place overall went to CF racing Husqvarna
rider, Steve Hughes with again consistent riding proving enough for an
overall placing at the sharp end.
The overall winner in the Clubman class with 1 st race win and a 2nd
place in race two was Josh Bailey. Josh was in top form and deserved his win
from Runner up, Ross Davies. Ross took a 2nd and a 5th to grab the runner up
spot. Jade Gordon showed the blokes a thing or two as she made light of the
conditions and track to take a very well earned 3rd overall after a 3rd and
a 4th place finish.
Sherco mounted Martin Sandiford was the man in charge of the Over 40's as
he took two race wins with ease and secured maximum points.
"Sandy" going really well on the 300cc 4t as he pushed the hard
charging David Haith into the silver spot. Haith took two solid runners up
places in both races. CF Racing boss, Gareth Lloyd secured 3rd overall with
a 3rd and a 4th spot finish places.
Eddy Emery on his Husqvarna 125 2t was the man to beat in the Sportsman
group as he took a win and a 4th to take the overall. Runner up was Ben Key
with Dan Heath in a solid third spot.
Josh Haith went one better than his dad did in the Over 40's by topping
the competitive Youth class with 2 straight race wins. Declan Richards was
runner up with Joe Townsend taking a well earned 3rd spot overall in class.
Top Novice class rider was Ryan Dodd with Christian Thomas as runner up
and Liam Ryde in 3rd spot after the two races.
To sum up, it was again a flawless structured event by the WOR team with
a great course, a brilliant safety team, and a great atmosphere. The riders
of both the Saturday RED day and the Sunday Moto Duro's truly enjoyed
themselves on the new design of course that Baden threw at them and even the
very heavy overnight and early morning rain did not hamper the quality of
the event.
WOR's next weekend of action is June 13/14th at their brilliant,
technical and testing track, Llwyn Ynn Hall near Ruthin in North Wales. That
weekend will see the Polaris Quads and the Putoline Hare Scrambles move into
the 4th round and with a very popular Playday Saturday too it will be a
weekend not to miss. Entries are open online for these events now.
