Chambers blitzes Langdale Enduro
Round 3 of the Putoline/Eurotek Northern Enduro Championship – Ryedale MCC

Ryedale MCC played host to round 3 of the all new Northern Enduro Championship in Langdale forest. After a week of sunshine the rain fell hard throughout the weekend making the course very wet and challenging. There were 3 checks to the lap, test check, around a 14 min fast tight check and a long 60 min loop for the 3rd check with fuel. The small championship class of Chambers, Flack and Gowan were away at 10am and this was soon to be even smaller with Gowan snapping his chain on the first test.

As the day progressed big Joe Chambers was looking strong opening up a 26 second lead on the first timed test of the day. As the conditions deteriorated there was no sign of big Joe lifting off the gas as he opened up a further gap on the remaining 2 tests to take the win on the Eurotek KTM. MPS Sherco rider Luke Flack took a solid 2nd overall later admitting he could of done with some fresh rubber to challenge for the win, he is sure to be back onit for the next round. There was a good line up of experts with 13 riders starting. The only expert clean was Ryan Burton on the Endurotek KTM but this was not to be enough as after a 2 min penalty Henry Moorhouse set a blistering pace on the tests to take the win. Michael Briggs took a solid 3rd after making a return to enduro. Sam Ludgate took a solid 4th and Luke Gorse rounded out the top 5. It was a disappointing day for Dan Field who after an off on the test had to retire with a dodgy knee.

Kyle Deswert took a commanding win in the Over 40’s by over 1min 30 from second placed Jim Wright, these were the only two riders clean in the vets. Phil Fallows came home in 3rd after a 1 min penalty on the going. Nathan Ball again won the Clubman class by over a 2 min margin setting times which would of seen him come top 3 in the experts. Jake Croft had a mega ride to come second overall and win the E3 class and Connor Scott took top honours in E2. In the Over 50’s it was Andrew Maben who took the win and in the Sportsman it was Mark Snelling, Lee Cairns and Jimmy Davey.

Thanks to all riders, marshalls etc for making the event possible especially Dunc Raw for making an all new awesome test!
