THE HARWOOD ENDURO
ROUND 4 PUTOLINE/EUROTEK NORTHERN ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIP - DIRT BIKE ACTION
Johnson blitzes the Hardwood

Round 4 of the all new Northern Enduro Championship saw a return to the Northern forest of Harwood last used for the British Championship in 2011. Event organiser John Kerwin and Commander Lawrence devised a 22 mile loop with around a 5 minute enduro test next to the start which would see riders tested to the max.

Eurotek KTM's Rob Johnson was the pre event favourite and was the only rider to do a sub 4 minute test he now leads the Championship Overall. Jake Gowan had another great ride to come home in 2nd 40 seconds behind Rob and MRS Sherco's Luke Lusher aka the lushman rounded out the top 3, a great ride from lusher after a recent eye operation he was happy with the return and looks set for the upcoming BEC's.

The Expert class found the tight time schedule of 60 mins on the final lap much more of a challenge so much so that all riders in the class dropped time, but it was Ben Thomson who came away with the win, Lee Corbett was a very close 2nd only 7 seconds behind over the three tests, Alistair Griffin rounded out the top 3. All 3 riders with a 1 min penalty, Matt Boam in 4th would of won the class overall with a blistering pace on the tests but unfortunately a few burials on the tight check cost him valuable time.

Competition is always tough in the Vets and Kyle Deswert was the master of the bogs and took the win from Karl Greenall in 2nd who's loving his new 200 KTM. Phil Fallows followed in 3rd with Jim Wright 4th, Mike Alty rounded out the top 5. All the Vets stuck to the times which was impressive. John Burrows had such a good time the night before he didn't even start and just drank some chilled red stripe supplied by mr kerwin.

Clubman E1 was won by Robbie Wallace, E2 went to Mark Houson who easily cleared the tight time spanking the opposition. Second in E2 was Connor Scott and 3rd was James Teale, these two having to rescue each other from severe burials on the last lap. Clubman E3 and Overall clubman winner was Joel Gowan with test times which would of seen him come top 3 overall!

Sportsman was won by Lee Cairns with Chris Kent 2nd and Dean Hall 3rd. Gary Parr took a close win in the over 50's from event regular Andrew Maben in 2nd.
