AG ENDURO SPORT - THE AUTOSMART LOW NORTH CAMP XC

MPS SHERCO'S LUKE FLACK WINS ROUND 2 OF THE NORTHERN XC

Round 2 of the Northern XC Championship returned to the famous Low North Park venue near the seaside town of Scarborough. The course featured all the usual going including rocky climbs, river crossings, an mx track and some fast and flowing trails.

At 9am sharp the small youth entry were flagged away. After a tough 1.5 hours it was Ben Wood who took the win from Toby Flack in 2nd and James Rail in 3rd. Well done to all youths and hope to see a few more next time!

After the Youth race was over a few minor changes were made before an impressive adult entry of over 100 were flagged away. It was Dan Field who took the hole shot on his new KTM 300 however it wasn't long before local man Luke Flack got to the head of the field. Flack battled with Sampson for the first hour of the race but unfortunately for Sherco mounted Sampson he crashed out. This allowed Flack to build a commanding lead being the only rider to complete 19 laps, Zac Sherwin took 2nd and trials expert Sam Ludgate took 3rd. Dan Bewlay had a good ride to come home in 4th and Chris Raynor rounded out the top 5.

In the Over 40's class Ross Hall and John Bradford had another race long battle but it was Ross Hall who just edged it taking a 7 second win over Bradford. Dave Salkeld put in another solid performance to take 3rd showing he's still a force to be reckoned with. 4th place went to Anthony Tempest on his Beta and John Steeples was 5th.

Clubman honours yet again went to the ever improving Nathan Ball he was the only Clubman to rack up 17 laps. Local lad George England had a great ride to take 2nd completing the last half hour with no front brake lever! Eurotek KTM's James Jacko Jackson was 3rd and Darren Cousins finished a good 4th only 6 seconds behind Jackson on his CRF aka the off road arm chair. Ben Clemit put in another solid ride to take 5th.

The Over 50's class was yet again won by event regular Andrew Maben, who took a commanding win from Rick Rail in 2nd and Mark Cockfield in 3rd.

Sportsman honours went to Jimmy Davey on his 300 Husky, Josh Haith was a strong 2nd on his Husky 85 an impressive performance against all the full size bikes! Joel Foster came 3rd.

Another big thanks to everyone who made the event possible, SDMC for the use of the excellent venue, Paul from Autosmart for the awards and to all marshals for making the event run smoothly. I hope all enjoyed the event and hope to see you again next year!
