Four Man Team Enduro

Twenty two teams started the fourth Four Man Team Enduro last Sunday at Foxborough Quarry Sible Hedingham Essex.

The organisers Sudbury Motor Cycle Club were blessed with hot and sunny weather which was a change from last year when there was heavy rain. A few regular moto cross riders were persuaded to ride in some of the teams and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves finding the atmosphere relaxing compared to moto cross and joined in the fun of the event.

Twenty two riders lined up for the only mass start of the day when after 15 minutes the chequered is shown they then ride to the beginning of the holding bays where another team member takes the bike while the rider then runs to his holding bay hand over the wrist band transponder then that team member runs to the end of the holding bays jumps on to his bike to ride the next 15 minute session and the 15 minute sessions continues for four hours.

There was hot competition between most of the teams which were riding a blistering pace throughout the day and the main contenders were Teams 2, 4, 6, 12, 15 and 16 with the lead changing several times however as the day went on they gradually sorted themselves out with two teams fighting for the win. It was a great day for Jason Morland (Halstead) who led Team 16 to victory by 1.5 seconds from Team 15 both completing 60 laps. Last year Morland lead a different Team to victory and this year was a last minute replacement for John Bishop. Team 4 finished 3rd, Team 2 4th, Team 6 5thand Team 12 6th. Team 19 were unlucky as their rider chain snapped and caught up in the rear sprocket on the last lap and was unable to finish and had they done so would secure 9th.

Overall Results ; 1st Team 16 60 laps ( Jason Morland, Julian Harvey, Paul Spurgeon & Damian Long), 2nd Team 15 60 laps (Dean Smith, Richard Squirrell, Luke Copping * Jake Gregory), 3rd Team 4 59 laps (Ben Roper, Brendon Mayers, Joe Marsh & Sam Mitchell), 4th Team 2 59 laps, 5th Team 6 57 laps, 6th Team 12 67 laps, 7th Team 8 56 laps, 8th Team 11 55 laps, 9th Team 13 54 laps, 10th Team 17 54 laps, 11th Team 3 54 laps, 12th 7 53 laps, 13th Team 1 52 laps, 14th Team 5 50 laps. 15th Team 10 50 laps, 16th Team 22 49 laps, 17th Team 18 49 laps, 18th Team 9 47 laps, 19th Team 21 47 laps, 20th Team 20 46 laps and 21st Team 14 44 laps.
