The Valleys Xtreme 2015

The weekend of the 5th-6th December sees the return of the annual extreme enduro event 'The Valleys Xtreme' Formally "Heads of the Valleys", located at Walters Arena, South Wales. The event is run by Nick Plumb, MD of Touratech UK, MotoXchange and organiser of the Dawn to Dusk Enduro. Nick has revamped the course for this year and felt a new name would give a fresh challenge to this exciting race.

"Are you tough enough to be the king of the Valleys Xtreme Enduro?"

Venue: Walters Arena a disused open coal mine with 4,000 acres of amazing welsh forestry. The terrain is hardstanding with plenty of rocks and boulders to catch out unwary riders. It is also home of the Dawn to Dusk Enduro.

Continuing from last year's success, hundreds of riders take part in one of the UK's toughest extreme enduro meetings. The event attracts vast numbers of brave riders keen to tackle the 3 lap, 15mile circuit.

Saturday will consist of the qualifying heats to see who lines up in the front row. The qualifying will consist of 2 separate parts, a fire road sprint test (similar to those of the Erzberg Rodeo) and a small extreme style test. Both times will be combined to give a final qualifying time.

The main race kicks off on Sunday morning with riders leaving in rows of 25. "The track has been designed to provide a challenging and demanding course for competent level of rider, while spectator's will be able to get up close and personal with the riders while helping them find the best lines" says Nick. Riders will be tested by many of the challenging obstacles awaiting them for this year's event. The lap will be different from last year's course, but with a few popular sections kept in, including the tough uphill, which caught many riders out last year.

The finish flag will come out for the first rider to complete the 3 laps. Once the winner finishes, fireworks will be set off to let the remanding riders know the race is over. The 3 checkpoints will close 1hr after the leader has finished. Your overall position will be defined by how many laps and checkpoints you have completed. (I.E. lap 2, checkpoint 1) Every rider that completes one full lap will be awarded with a finisher's medal.

The finisher's medal will be graded by the amount of full laps completed.
Gold: 3 Laps
Silver: 2 Laps
Bronze: 1 Lap

Entries cost £120, with 4 different classes to choose from:
Pro/Expert
Clubman
Over 40's
Sportsman

SPECTATORS: Spectators will be able to view the track by following many of the interlinking forestry roads, or by our minibus service which will take them to the most challenging and demanding parts of the track. Entry is just £10 per person. Facilities on-site include free and safe-parking, toilets and catering.

New for 2015!

NO HELP ZONE:
Any rider who is brave enough to do a 3rd lap will be presented by a "no help zone" hill climb. The tough hill climb will have a 3rd lap only climb through a freshly cut pine, grassy bank.

BIG NAME CONFIRMED:
We are happy to announce that x3 World Enduro Champion David Knight will once again be back to defend his 2014 crown.

David Knight's review from 2014.

"I realised again today why I actually ride and race motorbikes, It was a huge reminder to me that the sport I fell in love with still does exist now and then and that the true Heroes of Enduro' still do exist, the weekend riders, the ones that fight to get there and grit their teeth and make it to the finish at all costs, it was great to see and it was an awesome event. Well done to everyone who finished, even the guy who I used for grip in the river, to the marshals helpers and organisers and the enduro fans who stood out and froze all weekend. This event really did make me smile a lot."

NEW PART OF PROLOGUE:
For 2015 we have added a small extreme section style test which will be tackled after the fire road sprint. Both times will be added to work out qualifying times.
