![]() ![]() HARD Enduro Lee Dell Rochdale Nathans having a Ball... Amidst the wettest weather conditions the UK has seen for many years, RAW Enduro against all odds managed to run one of the best events of the 2015 season. Wayne Braybrook had to draw on all his past event experience as a rider to make the call to run. His, and the RAW Enduro crews dedication, proved that they are able to provide on schedule events even in the most adverse weather conditions. There was a great turn out of riders in each of the 5 adult classes. The course had been designed to test riders of all ability, catering for Experts through to Novice in one event is no mean feat. The challenge was to run the top expert rider as close as possible to 2 hours, at that point the flag goes out and all riders still on a live lap get just one hour to make it to the finish.
In the clubman class Craig Thompson used his strength to take the overall class win just four seconds ahead of New RAW Enduro signing Brad Lilburn (right) , this was Brads farewell ride on his Gear 4 KTM before he begins testing on his New Colin Appleyard RAW supported Husqvarna TE125. Local ace Lee Stansfield braved the wet conditions, and for his efforts took the third place trophy home.
In the Novice Class new Dad Daniel Critchley ground out a great win, he missed the trophy presentation as he dashed off for feeding time, but his trophy will be sent on to him. Chris Brown was runner up finishing around 5 minutes behind Critchley, and David Peel was delighted to take third place on the day for his efforts. It has to be said that all riders did a great job at Lee Dell; the praise by riders to the RAW Organisation was quite humbling. Massive thanks to everyone who assisted in the running of RAW Enduro events in 2015, Mr Braybrook is now taking a well earned break to make sure he hits the ground running at Eddy's Extreme Enduro on January 10th, there he will be riding his new Colin Appleyard supported Husqvarna TE300. Now growing in confidence and Experience, the RAW organisation will be driven forward, and are looking forward to stepping up the ladder, plans for a big extreme event are already underway, we have the right ingredients required now to create a great extreme event featuring some of the world's best extreme riders. We will only do this when we are confident that we have the right venue for the challenge of extreme racing, combined with the spectator platform required to make it one of the UK's best. Next RAW Event is January 17th Play and Race Day at Carlton Grange near Helmsley for a pre season warm up event. Then a Wayne Braybrook Extreme Enduro boot camp weekend on February 13th/14th with only 10 places up for grabs each day. For more RAW Info visit www.rawenduro.co.uk or search Raw Enduro on facebook. |
