BETA UK AND EDMONDSON RACING.

It is with great pleasure that we announce a joint effort between John Lampkin of BETA UK and Derrick Edmondson of Edmondson Racing to support a trio of young Cumbrian talent in next year's British Enduro and Sprint Enduro Championship's.

The 1st of the three riders will be James Dent who will campaign the new 2016 250cc BETA RR "Factory Racing" model in the BEC series along with selected European Enduro rounds, British Enduro Sprint Championship and hopefully the ISDE

James's performance and speed over the last six months has been very impressive and his late selection for the British ISDE in 2015 team proved a worthy one without doubt. He will ride in the Championship class of the BEC in E2 on the 250 cc two stroke machine.

The second of the trio is Jake Gowan who too will campaign the same 250 BETA RR "Factory Racing" model bike. His recent entry in to the Enduro scene saw wins in the opening and closing rounds of the Expert class of 2015 BEC but sadly a knee injury saw him sit out most of the middle season. The decision to let the knee recover fully was the right one long term and His MX experience and speed will be a big positive in the team's efforts to see him at the sharp end of the class in 2016.

Last but certainly not least is Joel Gowan who brings his own forte of national trials experience to the team to partner brother Jake in the Expert class of the BEC. Joel too is relatively new to Enduro's and his result in the last Muntjac round of the BEC shows he too will be at the sharp end of that class in 2016. He will campaign the bigger 300 RR Beta in the E3 class.

All three riders had their first taste of a standard 300 RR at the all weather ASHBY MOTO PARC practice track on Sunday after a visit to Derrick's midlands BETA dealership. A full list of team sponsors and individual rider's long term supporters will follow in the month ahead.

John Lampkin.... "I'm really pleased to hear the positive comments of all three riders after yesterday's initial first time aboard one of our bikes. With Derricks involvement, it will be a good move for them all and with Steve Holcombe moving up to becoming a full Factory rider for the BETA Factory in 2016, this will be great for myself as the brand importer as well as all our other Enduro dealers here in the UK"

Derrick Edmondson...."I have decided to step down as title sponsor of the 2016 BEC series but still wanted to be involved in a sport that I have enjoyed for over 30 years. To have these three guys show such interest in riding the BETA bikes, coupled with their commitment and genuine enthusiasm is a real breath of fresh air. The combination of all three bringing their individual strengths together will be unique and without any doubt create a very strong team. Everyone involved is truly looking forward to a enjoyable and successful 2016 championship season".
