Success on all Levels

Look back on a second round of the Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship full of success and held in a Sold-Out arena!

Finally!
Alfredo GOMEZ (E – KTM) was running after a heat win for a year and a half now. The last one was on February, 18th 2014 in Belo Horizonte when he made a huge return on David KNIGHT (GB). Since, the Spanish couldn't do better than second. He finally stopped this bad streak Saturday evening. Indeed, the brand new KTM rider couldn't qualify to the Super Pole Akrapovic and had to start from the second row. So, during the second heat with reverse order, he made the Holeshot and took a comfortable lead… In end of race, he nicely resists to Cody WEBB (USA – KTM) and Jonny WALKER (GB – KTM) come backs to take the victory!

ROBERT does it again
Once again, the fight to take the lead right after the first curve was intense, and once again, HAAKER and BLAZUSIAK ate the dust, accompanied by LINUSSON, in the last heat. While GOMEZ made the Holeshot in the second moto, Taylor ROBERT (USA – KTM), with a Holeshot in the last one and a better position in the first moto, wins for the second time in a row the Holeshot 100% "Spirit of Racing”! On the Junior side, the nice night of Blake GUTZEIT ended also with a 200$ Bonus offered by the goggle brand 100%!

Happiness
Since December 28th, Maxxis rider Kornel NEMETH (H – TM) is the father of a little girl. Finally present to race in Riesa, the TM Racing rider couldn't do better than a 15th rank after taking the last spot in qualification. But he certainly had something else in mind and the entire SuperEnduro paddock welcomes this little girl and wishes a lot of happiness to the parents!

MARTINSEN, the Norwegian Rookie!
Sweden is a major nation in SuperEnduro since his creation with Joakim LJUNGGREN during the first seasons and now with Andreas LINUSSON (KTM), one of the biggest prospects of the discipline, but also Martin LARSSON (KTM) and John NYSTROM (KTM). But we still never saw a Norwegian until this Grand Prix of Germany. Indeed, the very young Martin MARTINSEN (KTM) was trying his luck in the Junior Class and he is coming back from Riesa with an encouraging 11th position and 17 points! This promising evening should give him some cravings of more and we could see him again in Czech Republic in March… or maybe already in South America? And, as he only celebrated his 16th birthday on December 30th, each dream seems to be permitted.

HAAKER killed it!
Same as the three Prestige heats, the Super Pole powered by Akrapovic was a delight! Except Jonny WALKER who crashed, the seven other riders shown an impressive level. None of them wanted to let he win for the other and finally, it's Colton HAAKER (USA – Husqvarna) who realized the best time in 38''710 ahead of Taddy BLAZUSIAK (PL – KTM), 38''825, and Cody WEBB (39''997)! The US guy, already in a pretty good shape during practice, made no mistake and beat BLAZUSIAK time that seemed unbeatable! In the Super Pole standing, WEBB and BLAZUSIAK are tied with 4 points; HAAKER has 3 points and WALKER 1 point.

A Springbok in SuperEnduro
Last year, Wade YOUNG (RSA – KTM) participation from the German GP made some noise. But his arrival was accompanied by the one of the discreet Blake GUTZEIT (RSA – Husqvarna). The Husqvarna rider finished the season with an honorable 12th place with just the German and the Finnish GP in the books. Very impressed by the discipline, GUTZEIT and his family did everything they could next to their Federation and to the South-African government to be able to participate to the full 2016 season. And they can't regret it now! Actually living in Germany, the rider from Durban realizes a pretty nice season start and signed his first SuperEnduro podium in Riesa! He is currently 3rd overall in Junior and he is looking by any possibility to make the trip to South America…

JUSZCZAK, the prospect
On the Polish side, we were expecting a lot from Oskar KACZMARCZYK (KTM) who realized a nice first season in 2015. But the best Junior Polish rider is finally Emil JUSZCZAK, aged of 20 years old! Brand new in the discipline, the Sherco rider realized some really times, on the same level than the best riders of the class but he had some difficulties to confirm in Poland (9th)… In Germany, he ascended into power, his final Top 5 (5/6/4) speaks for himself and he could clearly come and fight for a podium before the end of the season. In the overall, JUSZCZAK is back in 7th position with only 9 points behind the 5th Tim APOLLE (D – Husqvarna) who is also improving a lot.

German New Year's Eve
With the race on January 2nd, each rider had to arrive in Riesa from December 31st. While WALKER and BLAZUSIAK preferred to celebrate it quietly with their family, the US colony formed by WEBB, ROBERT, TREMAINE, HAAKER and ROOKSTOOL has chosen a more festive option! They went all to Dresden to attend to one of the most famous and beautiful New Year's Eve in Germany… Despite this and less hours of sleep in compare to the Europeans, WEBB won the GP, joined on the podium by HAAKER while ROBERT finished 6th, TREMAINE 9th and ROOKSTOOL not so far from the Top 10!

Show
Once again, the official SuperEnduro cheerleaders, the Dragon Ladies, gave something to cheer for to the German crowd! In addition to this group of seven girls, the German organizer organized a big show with a fan race and the arrival of a Rallye car on the track. To top it all, Maxxis babes were also fire-breathings… The 6 000 spectators present in the SachsenArena in Riesa have taken eyeful during more than 3 hours and a half!
