2016 marks the return of an official Yamaha team in the British Enduro Championship after many years of absence. The team will be run and managed through the Yamaha Offroad Experience, who themselves through Geraint, Rowan and Dylan have many years of experience of racing internationally and know what it takes to make a winning formula.

Yamaha have a very strong line up of enduro and motocross bikes for the 2016 season. The Yamaha WR 250F was an all new model for 2016 based on the championship winning reverse cylinder YZ 250F. The WR 450F is a new model from the ground up for 2016. Based very closely to the World championship winning YZ 450F, Yamaha have developed an enduro race bike capable of winning at the very highest level. Rumours have been circulating for a while that Yamaha were going to once again produce a cross country/enduro two stoke bike. Yamaha launched the YZ 250X in America and Australia at the tail end of last year, and has seen a huge amount of interest. In Europe this bike will be known as the WR 250 and will come as a fully specked enduro bike. It is a truly exciting prospect to once again be able to race a Yamaha two stroke enduro bike.

The Yamaha Offroad Experience Enduro team has signed some very exciting riders who they feel are capable of fighting for championships, and proving the performance and reliability of not only the bikes but the products of our team sponsors. Former motocross rider Welshman Jamie Lewis is the most senior rider and he will compete aboard the new WR 450F. Jamie suffered a very serious neck injury at the end of 2014. He missed half of 2015 season but had some very strong results towards the end of the year. He is now fully fit and keener than ever for the start of 2016. Another Welshman Charlie Evans, will continue to ride Yamaha. After racing a WR 250F last year, he will switch to ride the new Yamaha WR 250 2 stroke. Lee Sealey originally from the Isle of Man but now living on the mainland is the youngest team rider. A former schoolboy trails rider who only turned to enduros a few years ago he is one of the emerging talents of the British enduro scene. He will be racing an enduro converted YZ 125 in both the British and World Enduro Championships. Lee’s season started very early with the first round of the Super Enduro Indoor World championship on the 2nd January in Germany where he finished just off the podium in 4th place in the Junior class, followed by a 7th place finish at round 2 in Poland.

The riders have already started preparations for the season where the first round of the British Enduro Championship kicks off on the weekend of the 5 & 6th March.

We are very much looking forward to a successful 2016 season and thank Yamaha, Yamalube, Renthal, P3 Racing, Circuit Equipment, DEP Pipes, B&C Express, Tsubaki Chain, MotoAir Filters, Motoseat and Spiral GFX for their support.
