Super Sealey Lee Sealey reviews the first two rounds of the 2016 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship Round one was in Poland and round two took place in Germany. The beginning round in Poland was the first time racing on my new bike and for my new team Yamaha UK Off-Road Experience. The day consisted of practice, timed practice and finally 3 races. Here's how it went... After timed practice I was in 4th position so I managed to get 4th pick of the gate. Race 1 came along and a bad start left me pushing myself back through the pack and managing to pull back up to 3rd place. Race 2 the starting order was reversed so the faster riders were on the second row, which made it a lot more challenging; I managed to pull back to 5th crossing the line less than a second behind 4th. Race 3 the starting order was back to normal and again I got a back start and continued to have back luck with a rider falling infront of me on a jump and I had no where to go which unfortunately left me landing on his bike, bending my front pipe and losing power. Due to this I managed to take 7th in the race and came away from Poland with a 4th overall. The second round in Germany I knew was going to be tough as the track was a lot more demanding and I had been suffering with the flu for a couple weeks leading up to the event. Timed practice came along and I wasn't feeling to good at all and it showed in my time only managing to qualify 11th which meant I'd be on back row for two races. Race 1 was underway and suprisingly I managed to get a 3rd out of the first corner from the second row which stunned myself and others. I pushed on for a a few laps but then got caught up in a pile up and unfortunately luck wasn't on my side. I unable to easily rectify this as I was at the bottom of the pile up and due to this I lost one whole lap to the leader. I finished 11th in race one. Race two I had nothing to lose as I was on the front row, I managed to pull the holeshot and I grabbed myself a comfortable lead of around 16 seconds. Two laps to go, I got stuck on a rocky section and lost first place but managed to maintain second place until the finish. Race three I was back to the second row and again I managed to pull another good start getting third out of the first corner. Once again this race didn't go as planned, I did not have any luck and getting caught up with riders just did not help my race. At the end of race three I came away with 11th, which gave me 7th overall at round 2 of the SuperEnduro World Championships in Germany. Although some races didn't go to plan, I know my pace was where I wanted it to be and I felt comfortable and able to bring home results I was just caught in a series of unfortunate events. I would like to thank all the people that have helped me including, Decade-Europe, BandCExpress, Circuit equipment, DP, Enviroclear, Hearo, MotoAirFilters, MotoSeat, MRS, P3, PureMX, Raptor, Renthal, Talon, TsubakiChain, Yamaha, Yamaha offroad experience, Yamalube and DEP pipes.
