Brad Freeman -
This Happy Brioude
FIM European Enduro Championship Round 2

On Day 1 the weather warm and sunny. The first test was a grassy MX track near  Civeyrat, only 7 km west from Brioude. Jaromir Romancik set the fastest time in the E2 class 3 seconds ahead of 2015 champion Tom Sagar (Sherco). Jamie Lewis was 5th, Round 1 winner Brad Freeman (Colwyn Bay KTM) led the Junior E2 class. Jane Daniels was half a minute faster than the second placed woman Audrey Rossat.

Test 2 in Verneuges was the extreme about 23 km southwest of the paddock. It was defined by rocks and a big jump that challenged the field. Brad Freeman accepted the challenge and he moved up the leader board into the overall lead. With a good lead Jane Daniels could afford to back off. The final test of the lap was the enduro test near Brenat, about 12 km southwest from Broiude.

Day 2. A band of rain swept across the Auvergne region of south central France in the early hours of Sunday morning drenching the course. Given the treacherous conditions the organisers ensured that the compulsory body armour rule was strictly observed before the riders could start. The change in the ground made little difference to Brad Freeman who set the fastest time on his first test of the day. He was only 10 seconds (over 6 minutes) slower than on Day 1. The wet conditions suited James Dent who started the 2nd day in 7th. Tom Ellwood plus clutch were 11th, Frazer Flockhart 12th and Jake Gowan 13th. Jeromir Romancik was only one second off Brad Freeman's time to head the E2 class - 8 seconds up on Tom Sagar in 4th. Matteo Pavoni headed the Under 20s with an much improved Jordan Ridgway in 11th.

Brad Freeman led all day and he went into the final test with a another overall win within his grasp but he clipped a tree with his shoulder and crashed passing the lead to French rider Antoine Basset in the E3 class. Brad was runner up and he held his lead in the Championship. The Czech rider Jaromir Romancik was 3rd ahead of reigning champion Tom Sagar and Romain Dumontier was 5th

French rider Jeremy Carpentier won the E1-class. The last year's Junior champion came home in front of Switzerland's Jonathan Rosse and fellow frenchman Romain Boucardey..

British rider Jane Daniels took her fourth victory in a row in the women-class.

James Dent, Tom Ellwood and Fraser Flockhart all picked up valuable Junior E2/3 points by finishing 6th, 10th and 14th respectively. In the Junior E1 class Jake Subachus was 8th, Luke Flack 14th, Hayden Maller 20th and Luke Fletcher 21st. In the Under 20s Jordan Ridgway was 16th and Alex Walton was 23rd.
