Fast buck takes the win at Eddies!
Builth MCC - 17th April

A wet lead up to the event didn't dampen the spirits of the riders who turned out for the first of Builth Motor Club's events this year! The expert class were off first at 11 am,and made light work of the 3 mile loop, with Shaun Buchan aboard his 'marshmx' Yamaha taking an early lead from Dan Mundell, with Jack Penhaligan following close behind, the trio kept up the fast pace for the entirety of the event, entertaining the gathering of spectators in the process! After two and a half hours of racing, the expert class was headed up by the three riders above finshing up 1.2.3 respectively, with just under a minute separating the top 2!!

The clubman class set off around a minute after the experts with 'et James' rider Katie Walker storming off the line to an early lead closely followed by Jacko Thomas who kept the pressure on walker before eventually catching and passing, Jacko rode strong throughout to maintain the position and take the top spot in the clubman class! Tom Knill a golden oldie from builth motorclub pulled out all the stops on a borrowed beta to claim 2nd in the clubman, just some 7 minutes down on Jacko, not bad for a man who spends most of his riding days on a twin shock not far off the same age as himself! Aberystwyth lad Martin Williams aboard his ktm 250 took third place with a solid ride finishing just over 1 minute in front of 4th place Kieron Watkins.

Callum gibbons comfortably ran away with the win in the sportsman class completing 16laps in the two and a half hours, putting 2 laps on second place local boy Shaun Davies, with Finley Branson taking 3rd.

This event was a round of both the 'bsea sidecar championship' and also the 'ACU Welsh sidecar championship' so the sidecar boys turned out in force which is always nice to see, with 12 outfits starting on the day which created a lot of close battles throughout the day!

In the expert sidecar class and a fast pace was set from the off, with a close battle emerging between the top three of David 'winnie' Williams/Simon brown - Alun Davies/James Ferguson and Jonathan Williams/Neil James! A mistake from Davies/Ferguson lead to and early end to the day, which allowed 'Winnie' to take the lead. Throughout the entire event 'Winnie' was hunted down by Jonathan who pushed hard all day eventually finishing up just 2 minuets down on the winning pair, Eirian Rees and Jason 'wellies' Davies rounded off the expert podium taking 3rd.

The clubman sidecar class was again a close run contest, with the top 2 being split by just 5 and a half minutes! Andrew Scrivens made his way through the pack to take an early lead which he held on to until the chequered flag, winning the clubman class completing 15 laps, followed very closely by Simon white in second! In third place, just one lap behind the leaders was Simon Chilcot.

The track held up really well throughout the day, and the feedback we got from the riders was brilliant! We'd like to thank you all for competing and remember we've got a moto duro consisting of two 60 minute races, coming up at the same fantastic venue in a months time on the 29th may, so be sure to get your entry's in early!!

See you all in May!
Thanks, B.W.M.C.
