Kevin Rohmer repeats Enduro Top win! 7th/8th May - Salives Wolff KTM rider Kévin Rohmer has won his second consecutive Enduro Top on the 7th and 8th May in Salives north of Dijon. A victory gained after two days of racing under a blazing sun that put a strain on both men and machines in the heat and dust. At the Saturday morning briefing, competitors were surprised to see Antoine Basset marshalling. The rider had intended to compete but he had sustained a groin stain at the CDF Enduro in Saint Palais and he was resting before next weekend's GP of Greece. The one and half hour race began with high hopes in bright sunshine but it was not long before two favorites for a podium finish - Edouard Balanche and Jonathan Rosse - both retired with mechanical problems. The weekend was over of the two European Enduro Championship riders but the way was open for Kevin Rohmer pursued by the young Till de Clercq, the local Jean-Charles Schneider and Alexis Bérépion. The three men battled until the last corner to lead on the first test. The Alsatian Rohmer set the quickest time almost 42 seconds ahead of De Clercq and Schneider. Hardly rested the riders embarked on a special timed lap. Till De Clercq surprises everyone with the best time 7 seconds ahead of Kevin Rohmer and 23 ahead of Alexis Bérépion! A superb performance for the Alésien, a former vice-champion of French Supermoto, which placed him in a good position in the general classification for the final day. After a great dinner and a concert at the heart of the village, the riders gathered at 11:00 on Sunday morning for the start of the 3 hour race. Veterans Jerome Taesch and Jimmy Vautrain took an early lead followed by Charles Feyrit and bourguignon motocrosser Paul Chabanis. Beta mounted Feyrit and Taesch began to their own elbows to elbows race, while Kevin Rohmer again moved through the pack with Till De Clercq after a very bad start. Kevin Rohmer won his second consecutive Enduro Top: The format that combines speed and endurances suited him perfectly! Till De Clercq took second place overall ahead of Alexis Bérépion, Jean-Charles Schneider and Charles Feyrit! The organiser said "Again the Enduro Top will be fondly remembered
by the riders and spectators! We wish for a fast recovery to injured riders
including Anthony Pagnier and Antoine Schmitt. Thank you to all the
volunteers for their help and our partners.
