"The latest round of the UK Quad Enduro series took place last Saturday at Manor Park Nr Welshpool with the WOR Events organised championship reaching the 4th Round.

Exceptionally heavy summer showers certainly played their part in making the 5 mile lap super slippery and very muddy indeed. The track was planned to have a mix of everything in it with lots of fast and flowing field work to link the old railway lines and woodlands. Even with the horrendous wet gloop the course was well received and enjoyed by the hardy quad folk.

Taking part in his first WOR Events quad race was Paul Winrow, The decorated racer at 42 is still one of the best 4 wheeled masters out there and his sheer speed and technical ability on Saturday combined with know how and mud riding ensured a race win for the likeable and jovial multy British Champion. Winrow took the 2wd Expert class win on 11 laps from Runner Up Johnny Owen on 10 laps with third placed Luke Davies on 9 laps.

Steve Atkin was in fantastic form in the 4x4 Expert class. The strong and competitive rider from Exmoor was really smooth on his big Can Am as he eased to class victory. Atkins was 2nd overall in the race too as he held off the challenge of Martin Benbow (Suzuki) who finished 2nd in class and an impressive 3rd overall as both Atkin and Benbow where the only riders to match Winrow's 11 laps.
3rd place in the 4x4 Experts went to the always consistent Craig Mccormick, Craig again making the massive trek down from Scotland to take part and support this series.

Graham Guy was the top man in the 4x4 Clubman class as he pipped Runner Up, Laura Linton by 3 minutes with both Can Am riders completing 10 laps each and seemingly really enjoying the muddy conditions. 3rd place and 9 laps belonged to series class leader, Tom Jones (Polaris).

2WD Clubman class was again the events biggest group and taking the victory was Ben Roberts with a classy 9 laps. Runner up went Oli Jones whom finally had some luck for a change and the final podium place going to Danny Gilligan whom was delighted at last to have stepped onto the podium. Jones and Gilligan matching Roberts's 9 laps each.

The series is now well under way and only 3 more rounds and a wildcard remain, it is a really fun and exciting championship and running on a Saturday afternoon means that the riders can squash in even more riding on their machines.

The next round is at a brand new venue, in Settle, Yorkshire on Saturday 9th July and that should be a cracking addition to this national quad series. All details on all things WOR can be found at the clubs website www.worevents.com

WOR would just like to again thank the landowners, staff, medics, caterers , sponsors and most importantly the quad riders for supporting the events and making them happen.
