The two Owen brothers dominated the latest offering from WOR Events in the UK Quad Enduro series Rd 5 at Baden Hall in Staffs last Sunday. The two boys mounted on Yamaha 450's where the only two riders to complete 14 laps each of the tough and demanding, muddy and slippery 2.5hr morning race. Younger of the two, Rhyds Owen was the winner with Johnny in the Runners Up spot in the 2WD Expert class. Third place went to the hard charging Luke Davies making it a Yamaha top 3, as he suffered a bit of bad luck not to match the 14 lap total of the top two.

The track was 5 miles long and had a bit of everything with and as always with any WOR event, a fresh new track design from previous races here really did offer up a treat and challenge for the racers. One of the stand out performances again came from the 4x4 Expert class as Martin Benbow looked amazing on the 750 standard farm Suzuki bike. Benbow can make this thing talk and he just got on with the terrain in front of him to complete 13 Laps and take the class victory, despite rolling it and the pressure of the big 1000cc Polaris of the Flying Scotsman, Craig Mccormick chasing him down. Mccormick secured 13 laps aswell albeit 5 minutes down on Benbow. Third place in class went to Simon Lang on his Can Am with 10 laps.

Tom Jones was again back on top form in the Clubman 4x4 class and was really enjoying being back out on his Polaris Scrambler. Jones completed a well earned 13 circuits and finished a lap up on 2nd Placed Guy Graham (Can Am) and a further lap up on 3rd placed Gary Bailey (Suzuki) with all the top 3 putting in a great perfomance to make the podium.

The 2WD Clubman class was again bossed by number 14, Ben Dean. Dean going well to finish a complete lap ahead on 12 laps with Janet Freeman-Smith taking a well earned Runners Up spot and she also secured the Rider of the Day award for her general attitude, enthusiasm and love of the sport, Well done that lady. 3rd spot in class went to Andy Lawton making his trip from Barnsley well worth it with a podium finish.

The series now moves into its final two rounds and again they are shaping up to be brilliant with the growing support this series in its first year is gathering. WOR would like to thank all staff, medics, caterers, sponsors and most of all the Quad Riders for simply getting on their machines and helping make this championship grow.
