Derek Bawn wins CTR EVENTS Summer Series Championship Round 5 at the awesome Fan Farm Myddfai Llandovery Mid Wales.

Derek’s Bawn again with a great win at CTR SSC RD5 on Sunday the 7th August in some slippery and challenging conditions with the 6.5 mile mixed cross country Enduro course with slippery fields, step hills, fast flowing tracks, ruts, and 2 big horse power hills with an easy hard loop of logs and tractor tyres thrown in for good measure, after a few laps Bawn got into his rhythm and started to command the race with hard charging consistent laps.

At the start and after a short briefing with CTR the Experts were set free and it was a scene from dancing on ice with the riders slipping and sliding around the varied corners with Rhys Davies finally getting the holeshot from Jack Heath and Mathew Jones and as the rest of the group got going Derek Bawn was in 4th place as they disappeared into the woods CTR set the Vet Experts loose with Grant Churchward getting the holeshot from Sean O’Neill and Paul Biggs, Next to be unleashed was the Clubman with Ryan Nightingale grabbing a big holeshot from Nikki Jones and Scott Lewis, Next to be set free the Vet Clubman and Over 50’s with Mike Crumb grabbing another big holeshot from Neil Price Keith Cross and Myles Thomas, last but not least to set off was the Novice class with Steve Nicholas grabbing another big holeshot to lead the pack away into the woods to start their 1st lap of CTR’s awesome Enduro course.

At lap scoring 1st to appear was Rhys Davies with Derek Bawn and Mathew Jones and Jack Heath snapping at his tail 5th around the lap and leading the Vet Experts was Grant Churchward with Sean O’Neill and Paul Biggs a couple of minutes behind next class leader around was Clubman racer Nikki Jones with Scott Lewis just a few seconds behind the next class leader around was a flying Novice class racer Jamie Biggs with Vet Clubman Adrian Llewellyn and Over 50’s racer Adrian Evans leading their class’s around.

Half way into the race Derek Bawn was leading the race with Rhys Davies 2nd and Mathew Jones and Jack Heath pushing each other for 3rd with Jones having to stop for medical attention to a swollen hand from an insect bite Heath stormed into 3rd and started chasing Davies and Bawn with Derek Bawn taking the win buy 2 minutes and Rhys Davies taking 2nd with Jack Heath finishing 3rd just 32 second behind great racing boys, Grant Churchward won the Vets Expert class from a joy full Paul Biggs taking 2nd on the last lap from a very tired Sean O’Neill, Scott Lewis won the Clubman class from Sam Peake and Nikki Jones in 3rd, The Vet Clubman was won by Adrian Llewellyn with Andy Taylor 2nd and Neil Price 3rd, The Over 50’s class was won by Adrian Evans with Mike Crumb 2nd and Stephen Cooper 3rd, The Novice class was won by Jamie Biggs with Jake Robinson 2nd and Ben Morris 3rd everyone enjoyed their challenging days racing it was enjoyed by all and well done to everyone who completed a lap.

The CTR Kids race went off well with Alfie Webb grabbing the 85 BW holeshot from Lloyd Duggan-Thomas and Matthew Harries with Callum Shepherdson, Jordan Protheroe, Sion Evans Kieron Roger Davies, And Tristan Williams grabbing the 85 SW holeshot from Harry Ridgway and Daffyd Evans, And Ajay George getting the 65 holeshot, Alfie Webb won the race from Lloyd Duggan-Thomas with Matthew Harries 3rd, Tristan Williams won the SW 85 race from Harry Ridgway and Daffyd Evans 3rd, And Ajay George won the 65 race.

It was a great days racing and I would like to congratulate and thank all involved in making CTR what it is a mazzive thankyou to Glyn and David the land owners, the caterers 101, The CTR medical team, all the marshals and spectators, the lap scorers and the CTR Track building team,
