  Italian
Final
We are ready, we are full, we are excited. The reason? The last round of
the 2016 Italian Championship of course!
We have waited three months to see the riders in the field and now there
is very little time to wait. On Saturday 17th September in the town of Santa
Margherita the starting flag will fall on the last round of the championship
which will decide all the national titles. Forty points are still available
so everything is up for grabs.
Race Director Motoclub Pavia together with Motoclubs Misinto, Ceva, Valle
Staffora and Chieve have set up a very technical test with three special
stages which will be a great show! The first to be addressed will be the
Cross Test about twenty minutes from the start, Another twenty minute takes
the field to the assistance area and the 8 km long Enduro Test. The 2 km
Extreme test is located at the foot of the paddock and within the Staffora
river.
On Saturday and Sunday the start is scheduled at 8:30 and the 48 km
course will be ridden four times.
Taking a look at standings we see that only three points separate 2016
world champion Giacomo Redondi, Alex Salvini and Manuel Monni. Unfortunately
there is a big question mark over the Honda Redmoto rider's participation
due to a very swollen knee! If so, the challenge would focus entirely on
Salvini and Monni!
If the absence of Redondo was confirmed, the door opens for the Junior
Red team mate, David Soreca. Currently, the 2016 world champion is leading
with perfect score of 120 points, followed by Show with 98 points, while in
third place, but more detached, we find Nicoḷ Bruschi (Husqvarna Osellini)
that will have to be careful to Michele Marchelli (Honda Jolly Racing), as
to divide them is just a point!
Challenge between young people in the E1 with Rudy Moroni and Gianluca
Martini (Lunigiana Enduro) vying for the national title; to lead the
standings with 111 points is number 90 of the Team KTM Farioli thanks to
three wins and three second places. A single success this season for the
Tuscan Martini, who chases to 14 points behind!
Interesting will be the challenge of the E2, with former motocross riders
Alex Salvini (Beta Motor) and newcomer Davide Guarneri (Honda Redmoto)
separated by two lengths. Both have assets of three wins and two second
places, so the stage in Santa Margherita di Staffora will be crucial;
Salvini try to collect precious seconds in the extreme and lines, weakness
Guarneri, while Brescia will certainly try to have its say in the Cross
Test, in which he has shown to handle it during the whole of the season! To
kill the cat could be Deny Philippaerts (Beta Boano), currently on the
lowest step of the podium with 94 points.
Ready to take home the third title of E3 will be Manuel Monni; the
policeman of the well-TM will administer 16-point lead he has over his
colleague Thomas Oldrati (Husqvarna BBM). More distanced the ispector track
World Enduro Maurizio Micheluz (Husqvarna), third with 92 points.
With a positive line of four victories in the last four stages of the
tricolor Youth, Matteo Pavoni (KTM) is the national title hunt scope; to
impede the ruler of Lignano Sabbiadoro opening of the trial, Emanuele
Facchetti (KTM). The two are separated by 8 points and the two Lombard days
will be decisive! Also to keep an eye on Lorenzo Macoritto (KTM) who
currently is in third position with 92 points.
Foreigners in groped in the long shot will be Pascal Rauchenecker (Husqvarna
Rockstar) that on his debut in the world of mule tracks and the Italian
Championship is leading the category with 87 lengths. Behind him, with 86
points is Johnny Aubert (Beta Motor) but will not be present at the last
event of the season for shoulder pain. Absent the third ranking Nathan
Watson (KTM Farioli), other revelation in 2016 that will surely make quite a
stir in the coming years!
Turning now to club teams, the top of the podium bears the signature of
Motoclub Fiamme Oro Milan, chased a - 3 points from the formation of
Motoclub Sebino, while the third place is the Trial David Fornaroli. Among
the Team Independent victory almost mathematical for Diligenti Racing, with
Team Husqvarna Osellini in second place at 42 points from the top.
Cup in Italy the leader of the Cadets is Alberto Capoferri (KTM), with 94
points, against 86 of Frederick Piccina (Husqvarna). In third place, with 78
points each, we find Silvestro and Silvi Ramon Bregoli, respectively
Husqvarna and KTM. The head of the Junior ranking is in the hands of Andrea
Giubettini (Husqvarna 96 pt), followed by Nicholas Sana (KTM) and Riccardo
Dal Fior (Husqvarna), fighting separated by just one point. Significantly
greater than the gap between Ivan Boezi (KTM) and Tommaso Gabrielli (Husqvarna),
with the first in command with 115 points against the 90 of the driver from
Veneto that will have to be careful to Damian Llull, the third in three
lengths. Finally, the Major sees the command Marco Luvisetto (Suzuki),
followed by Matteo Zoppas (KTM) and Mirko Colombo (KTM).
Absolutes of Italy is synonymous with X-CUP-Maxxis Honda Redmoto. The
Staffora Santa Margherita grand finale will crown the winner of the 2016;
battling for the title of best rider Alex Salvini will be Extreme, holder of
the two previous editions, and current leader with 69 points and James
Reondi, according to 67 points. In third place is Johnny Aubert, while the
fourth and fifth place are occupied by Manuel Monni and fresh world champion
Matthew Phillips!
Another very important trophy will know that on Sunday its new leader is
the Trophy Mika Ahola, strongly desired by Marika Ahola in memory of the
late Finnish driver. To win the trophy in 2015 had been Antoine Meo, while
this year for the title will be Redondi, Salvini and Monni, the major
contenders of the tricolor in absolute ranking.
In the Italian Cup continues the battle to win the first edition of the
Trofeo Fiat Professional Six Days. In first place with three wins, two
second places and a third is Ivan Boezi with a total of 109 points, more
than seventeen Peter Henry Collovigh, runner with 92 points. In third place
we find Damian Llull with 89 points.
