It is with sadness that we have to inform you of the recent death of Mary Hay. Known to many in the motorcycle world as the mother of Enduro Rider Richard Hay. Many in Enduro circles shall remember Mary and her late husband Phil whom in the 90s and noughties tirelessly supported Richard at Scottish, British and latterly World Championships as he pursued his motorcycling ambitions.

Mary met Phil in her teens while learning to ride a motorcycle and although never a competitor managed to ride a full circuit of one of the most notoriously difficult Scottish Enduro tracks near Aviemore whilst helping to mark out the course. She worked tirelessly behind the scenes helping both Richard and many other competitors keep going.

Mary was a passionate gardener, keen runner, and cyclist who kept herself and her children Richard, Jennifer and Alison very active. Following the untimely death of her husband Phil in 2014 Mary focussed on completing the garden of the dream house project that Phil and herself had embarked on. In recent times she had purchased a small campervan to begin traveling the country once again with her Border Collie Jed, regrettably this ambition was never fully realised as ill health overtook her.

The funeral shall take place in Carrbridge on Wednesday 5th October @ 12:00. All friends and family are invited. 

Flowers are most welcome, however the family would like that anyone wishing to make a donation, if they could please make it to the Highland Hospice as a thank you for their incredible support.
