Gethin Humphreys dominated affairs with two race wins last weekend to take the overall victory in WOR Events Moto Duro, a 2 x 1hour race event that kicked off the clubs winter series in the stunning Snowdonia National Park.

Husqvarna 250 2t mounted Humphreys was enjoying the mushy, moorland terrain as he showed a true display of control in the testing conditions. Runner Up to Gethin in the Expert class was Ross Davies with a 2nd and a 3rd place being enough to secure him the final podium space over Yamaha Mounted Craig Reynolds.

The 4.5 mile per lap track, by the end of the second race, was in perfect condition and was now allowing riders to get up to some proper speed and it was Paul Engerlen (KTM) in the Clubman class that upped his speed after a 2 race battle with the ever improving Rob Francom (Husqvarna) that eventually topped the group. Francom was a well earned second place with Beta mounted local rider, Lee Thomas in a solid 3rd spot.

Chris Berry on was in top form with 2 race wins to pip Justin Jones in the Vets A group with Guy Hemmings returning after a 3 month break to top the Vets B from Rob Parry and Emrys Price in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Colin Griffiths was out on his new 350f KTM and made the transition from his trusty 300 2t perfectly with a superb overall victory after 2 classy wins in the Over 50's. Stephen Parry and Gareth Jones took the silver and bronze awards with their collective scores overall.

Local rider, Ed Fear was in hot form on his new KTM as he dominated the Sportsman group with a brace of 1 hour race wins pushing Leon Dean and Dewi Davies down the pecking order on the podium. All 3 riders going very well though in the flowing and fast track conditions.

Dan Johnson put in a brilliant shift to top the Novice group from Liam Hickey and Darren Woodward and fully deserved the trophy at the awards presentation.

Rider of the day went to young Hayden Rainford on his 85cc Husqvarna as he battled the little wheels round a demanding and certainly not easy course to match many a big bike on number of laps achieved.

So the last visit of the year to this superb venue in North Wales and the first leg of the new format Winter series has now taken place and the club move forward to all sorts of events and race staking place over the winter months.

WOR would like to thank the land owners, the staff, caterers , medics, supporters, sponsors and most importantly the riders for supporting the events and making them happen. "
