First day of the final – First champions European-Enduro-Championship The first day of the final European-Enduro-Championship in Harfsen/Netherland has resulted in the first 2 Champions being crowned: The Italian Maurizio Micheluz defended his title in the E3-class on the big 4-stroke Husqvarna. Sebastian Krywult from Poland won the veteran-class championship with a victory on he day. Krywolt was a member of the Polish trophy team that went to the Six Days two weeks ago which shows how strong the 40 year “old” man is.
Brad Freeman won the day. The Brit took the victory with a two and a half minute lead in front of the other juniors Patrik Markvart from the Czech Republic and Jesper Börjesson from Sweden. Behind them the first senior, the German Marco Neubert. After the technical failure from the reigning overall- and E2-class champion Tom Sagar from England, Neubert was fighting with the Czech Jaromir Romancik for the championship in the E2-Class. In the overall James Dent was 16th, Luke Flack 20th, Fraser Flockhart 24th, Alex Walton 26th and Jordan Ridgway 35th, Jake Subachus was on fire in a good way until his fuel pipe snapped and the bike was on fire in a bad way. With 90 km a lap and four tests in every of the three rounds, the times in the special-tests grow up to more than one hour and 24 minutes to the best – and nearly two hours to the slowest riders in the championship. Day 2 - Brad Freeman is Overall Champion 20-years-old Brad Freeman won the overall title at the final of the Enduro-European-Championship in Harfsen / Netherlands with two clear day victories. Due to an operation on his injured shoulder the Brit missed the race in Latvia, where he scored no points! Thus he was “only” second in the junior-E2/E3-class behind the new champion Nicolas Pellegrinelli from Italy. For the other italien, Guido Conforti, a third place in the day was enough to secure his title in the senior-E1-class in front of Jonathan Rosse from Switzerland.
With two wins in the junior-E1-class Patrik Markvart took a fortunate title. Fortunatley, because the Czech had to organize his old bike from home, after his new bike was stolen two nights before the competition started! The title for him was a just reward for his effort. The 125-class for young riders under 20 years seems to be firmly in Italian hands: With two wins, day by day, Matteo Pavoni took the title in front of his fellow countrymen Andrea Verona and Lorenzo Macoritto. Even in the team championship the italian are on top: “SA Racing” the title went to Italy as well as second place with the “Husavarna Osellini-Team”. After them the Germans with “Heikos Bad Boys”. All other classes where already decided the day before. In addition to the individual-European-Championship, the Nation-Championship was held this weekend. The Nation Cup was won by the British team in front of the Chechs and the host Netherlands. At the Juniors the Italians took the title in front of Sweden and the Brits. In the veterans the hosts Netherlands could take the place on top of the podium in front of Sweden and Finland. The motoclub „Hamac“ in Harfsen made a worthy season final with a real enduro-track and tests. Quotes Brad Williams "Unbelievable weekend. Won all 24 tests
Outright and clinched a double overall win by 2 minutes 24 seconds Friday
and 3 minutes 34 seconds Saturday! I think personally my best ride ever as a
whole at an enduro. Alex Ritson-Walton "Just returned from riding the Final round of the European enduro championship at harfsen in holland on Friday and Saturday. Day 1 started well with top ten test times but had throttle problems on one test. My out rider fixed this at the check. Managed to finish in 10th with test times in the top 7. Day 2 Saturday mid way through the first test lost engine power due to spark plug failure managed to sort this at the check. Had a heavy crash in mx test end of lap one which cost me time. From there I pushed and had top 5 test times this left me with 6th overall which is my best result in EEC this season. Thanks for the support at the event from Ted Bailey and fuel crews. Thanks also to my sponsors Colwyn Bay KTM UK Ian Smart, Michelin, Rock oil, ci sport, Dep pipes, P3, Steve plain suspension, Talon engineering and off-road only. Congrats to my team mate Brad Freeman on winning the European enduro championship." Jordan Ridgway "Good week in Holland for Round 4 of the European
Championship. Day 1 was a disaster after the first test when I got lost on
the going and missed a time check so was later disqualified. Will definitely
learn from that one! Day 2 was much better as I felt I had a fresh start.
Was pleased with my result as I set a goal of a top 10 and managed to get
6th. Now on to the last round of the BEC and then hard work begins for
2017! Alex Snow "So the past weekend I had the opportunity to race my first enduro race for Mick Seward of MPS racing Sherco team in the final round for the European Championship in Harfsen, Holland. There was lots of new things to learn from walking the tests, to going wide open with no practice, and even changing a moose in your 15 minute time slot after spending over 7 hours already that day on the bike. It felt like I started a little slow on day 1, but each lap I did and each test I raced I felt more and more relaxed once I new my way around the 90k corse. By the end of day 1 I ended up 8th in E2 class. Day two started much better and I felt much more confident going in to the day. I felt like I ride a lot better learning more and more every test o did. With a few small mistakes along the way and once serious rough track I improved to 7th on day 2 closing my gap on the leaders by 30 seconds. A added bonus to the end of the weekend was winning the European national team award for GB along with my team mate Brad Freeman, Tom Sagar and James Dent. Although Tom had mechanical problems, Our team effort over the weekend with our combined results secured us one very big trophy. Big thanks to Mick and the team for there help over there weekend, so much team effort goes in to making this run smoothly a long with all my other sponsors.
