Mario Roman goes to Sherco

After the announcements from KTM and Husqvarna revealing their "Grading List" riders, many people were wondering where Mario ROMAN (E) had gone and whether we would see him in the 2017 FIM Maxxis SuperEnduro World Championship season... And the answer is… yes, we will!

Indeed, the "Madrileño” has just signed a contract with Franco-Spanish brand Sherco for the coming season. Jordan CURVALLE, Team Manager of Sherco Factory, tells us more: « We were looking for a top rider who could succeed in the Prestige category of SuperEnduro, and also in extreme racing. Mario was without a contract after finishing his adventure with Husqvarna, and we couldn't miss the opportunity! So he will be our Sherco representative in the "Grading List” this season! »

It's a boon for Sherco, but also for ROMAN, as he joins the team following their superb success in EnduroGP with Matthew PHILLIPS (AUS). 6th last year, Mario remains one of the favourites in SEWC, and he will be aiming for the Top 5 in 2017.

Sherco team-mate Wade YOUNG (RSA), injured during Red Bull Sea to Sky in September, will not be able to participate in the opening rounds of the 2017 SuperEnduro season. But the youngster, who was tipped for the top in the Junior category, will hopefully be back for the final two GPs in Spain's Basque Country and in Albi (France) on March 18th.

It appears that the signing of ROMAN will be a great deal for CURVALLE and for Sherco. Could they even wreak havoc against the "big guns”, KTM and Husqvarna, who have dominated the discipline since the creation of the championship?
