Bradley - The King of Dorset

Round three of the winter warmer series was hosted at Hethfelton forest, conditions were soggy to say the least but the flowing track held up well.

The Champs class was once again won by Brad King, who led the race from the start and was the only rider to achieve 11 laps. Second was Nick Life who took the holeshot and only conceded one place; third was Dylan Bayton whose result proves the benefit of dry January!

Fourth overall and the winner of the expert class was Ricky Wiggins, whose consistent and smooth riding was well suited to the tough conditions. Bradley Rowland and Ryan Grover fought for most of the race, brad held the upper hand until he went elbows first down a fire track, in the end Ryan was second with Brad close behind in third.

The over 40 expert class winner was Gary McCoy but Paul Armstrong (4Th) led the first two laps setting the fastest lap of the class before being hunted down by Gary, Rob Carey (2nd) and Jon Tarr (3rd). Special thanks to Chris Stainger , who spent his race rescuing people, including Em, from sticky situations.

The winner of the clubman A class was Elliot Croft, who took an early lead and held it. Second was Josh Player who was first on the scene to help Mathew Taylor, who suffered a broken femur, get well soon mate. As Josh lost time helping out he narrowly missed a 9th lap but with times adjusted came a creditable second. Rounding up the podium was Lewis Robinson, also on 9 laps.

Clubman B was convincingly won by Lee Blackmore who not only won his class but also beat a lot of people in the class above with 9 laps. In second was Jordan Bridgen who was winning after the first lap and finished only one place behind his dad. Rumour has it he would’ve been walking home if he beat Geoff. Third was Michael Burgess who was the last clubman B on 8 laps.

In the sportsman class, first was Paul Jones who achieved a respectable 7 laps. Second was 15year old Morgan Deakin who set the fastest lap of the class, well done mate. Third was Paul Cooke, who kept it smooth on the big fourbanger.

In the over 40 clubman class Jim Hawkins took the win but not without a battle, Si Thomas on the oldest bike out there had a blinding start and got away but as the track deteriorated and having lost his front mudguard he had to settle for second. Third was Shane Babey also on 8 laps.

Thank you to everyone who supported the event, the weather did make conditions difficult towards the end of the race, but it was still a great track. Also thanks to all those who have helped throughout the series, with scrutineering, sign on, and marshalling. The 4th round is at Rogershill Sunday 19th February, entry is open. We will be running a different format and incorporate a lot more going that we have saved especially for this event.

Hopefully see you all on the 19th!
