Winter Warmer
Round 4

The fourth round of the winter warmer series was hosted by Rogershill raceway, on Sunday 19th February. Weather conditions were near on perfect, and so was the track.

The championship class was once again won by Brad King, although Josh Marshal (3rd) got the holeshot, Brad soon muscled his way to the front, where he stayed till the chequered flag dropped. 2nd was Jamie Paget with Josh in third all on 11 laps. Nick Life was in the mix early on until his clutch went.

The expert class was won Brad Rowland who took the holeshot, beginning a fantastic race for the 18 year old that ended up second overall, second in class was Chris Cook, followed by Moss Macriner in third.

Jack Twentyman was flying taking the holeshot and remaining in front for the duration of the race. Mark Corn circles Cornick was AMZINGGG and finished second after finally realising dirtbikes don’t live in the lounge, they need to be ridden. Jonny Tarr was in third not far behind. Our thoughts are with Steve Harding who has cracked several vertebrae after his throttle stuck firing him into a tree, but he’s back home now, driving Mel mad no doubt!

The clubman A podium was all on 10 laps, but young Josh Player took victory after discovering how to keep his bike up right! Well done mate you’ve clearly inherited some talent from your uncle Gary! Second place was Jamie Watts who set the fastest lap of the group, and third was Steve Shaggy Mulliner, who had to break into his own van because even though he had a key, the Peugeot said no to smelly kit.
Clubman B was won very convincingly by Jordan Bridgen who was the only one on 10 laps, second was Dalton Cook and third was Paul Jones, who seemed to have a blinding start but was reeled in during the second lap.

Over 40s clubman was won by Wayne Tipton who finished well on 10 laps. Second was Rob Smith with Kevin Rumming in third, who were separated by less than a second at the finish, narrowly, missing an extra lap as well. Si Thomas came fourth and rattled a few ear drums when the exhaust fell off his twin shock.

The sportsman class victory went to Matt Dibble who took the early led but was kept honest by Gary Holloway who eventually finished only 7 seconds behind. Third was Jack Blacker some way behind but still on a creditable 9 laps.

Crash of the race is awarded to Charlie White competing in his first event. He went down off the start and was subsequently run over but wasted no time in getting back on the bike to finish 4th in sportsman. Dodgy Dave Kirk, a Rogershill resident, finished his first race of the millennium having been pestered to take part by Dan. He had a couple of big offs but was still smiling at the end but the blisters covering both his hands will stop him enjoying his other favourite hobby ! ;)

A speedy recovery for Paul Whitmarsh, who got a bit carried away on his new beta across one of the bridges and now has a cracked ankle and broken toes, but no sympathy from his wife, who is yet to forgive him for the new bike!

Thank you to all of the riders who supported the event and the series so far!

Special thanks to Gary Goble, Pete Coles and Louise King for being amazing, along with all the others who helped on the day, before and after.

The final round of the winter series is at Bovington on March the 12th , we hope to see you all there.

Up and coming dates will be announced soon so keep an eye out!
