WOR EVENTS WULFSPORT WINTER QUAD ENDURO SERIES . Steve Williams wins final WOR Events hosted the final round of the Wulfsport Winter Enduro series of 16/17 for quads last Sunday in very challenging conditions indeed. The mud and gloop would certainly prove to be very tiring and tricky to ride in but the tried and trusted , Old school, hare and hounds venue of Carrog Isa once again proved its value to WOR as the event ran superbly for the quads and sidecars. A good turn out of both Quads and the reintroduced Sidecar class was nice to see and the determination and enthusiasm of the hardy competitors was a welcome boost in the wintry conditions. Stephen Williams on the Suzuki quad was the man to beat as he led the event from start to finish with a faultless display of how to ride mud. The farm quad specialist was lapping in very consistent times and took the event overall as well as the 4x4 Expert class. Runner up in the 4x4 Experts was Can Am mounted Simon Lang whom once again was late to the start but still put in a solid display to gain the silver award on the day. Kev Jones rode consistent throughout on his borrowed Suzuki to take the final podium place even after being stuck at 30 mph all day with a slight glitch. Ben Dean was the only 2WD Expert and he did a nice race to finish and take the top award. Will Baxendale topped the 2WD Clubman class again with a superb, determined and comitted ride to blast the 450 Honda to 9 laps. 2 laps behind on 7 laps each was 2nd and 3rd placed, Nigel Morris and Alex Trowler finishing in that order. Stuart Marley made the long trip down again from Co Durham to once again place himself fearlessly at the top of the 4x4 Clubman category and a superb 3rd spot overall. Marley was flying on the Can Am and took the win by a clear lap on 10 circuits from Runner Up, Dean Foster on 9 and 3rd placed Andy Perkin on 8. A Can Am one, two, three in that group.
Great to see the sidecars out and you can expect to see more of them at WOR throughout 2017. So to sum up, after the weather gods set the challenge very high with the rain and windy conditions it has to be a hats off to the WOR team whom once again showed vast experience to overcome the weather and sloppy parking by having a tractor and very happy smiling staff on hand to sort out the logistics of the day. Well done to all the riders and staff for making the event happen. The new WOR National Hare Scrambles serie (NHS) for Quads kicks off on
Saturday 18th March at Baden Hall in Staffordshire with superb 8 round plus
a wildcard series to count. More details on all things WOR at www.worevents.com
