Venue Change
The Great Britain Cross Country series is ready to roll on April 1-2nd and the opening round will now be at Westwood near Sheffield. Nature has put a spanner in the works at H2O, the original venue, because of lambing and the venue is unavailable throughout this period. Westwood will provide an excellent starting point for the return of this popular series. The first event will be a Hard XC course with a technical and challenging track. Saturday will be a FED practice day with Sunday holding two races for adults. Westwood has proved its pedigree over the past few years and the venue has more than enough challenges to provide a cracking course up to the standard expected from a GBXC event. The GBXC series courses will be more challenging than the usual Fast Eddy Rock Oil XC layouts, giving riders a chance to raise their game to another level in a National Championship series. Classes will be Novice, Sportsman, Youth B and Veterans B in the morning race followed by Expert, Clubman, Youth A and Vets A in the afternoon. Camping will be available and there is enough flat parking to accommodate everyone. Westwood is close to junction 36 of the M6 and the track will be signposted from the motorway junction. The nearest postcode is S75 3DL, follow the signs for Tankersley and Pilley off the A61. Entries are now open and you can secure your place by calling 01543 370070 or 07889 924560.
