French Enduro Championship,
round 4

Loïc Larrieu Secures Double Victory In Requista

Continuing his dominant performance in the 2017 French Enduro Championship, Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team rider Loïc Larrieu has secured a double Enduro 2 class victory also topping the outright standings on both days of competition in Requista (Aveyron).

Following his stellar performance at the 2017 International Six Days Enduro, the WR450F powered rider entered the penultimate round of the French Enduro Championship with his eyes set on continuing his winning run at the series. Topping 15 out of the 18 special tests contested throughout the weekend Larrieu was clearly the man to beat in Requista.

Gaining come extra racing miles on his Yamaha during the weekend in France, Loïc will be now joined by his Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team partner Jamie McCanney as the duo head to the famous Hawkstone Park in the United Kingdom to contest the penultimate round of the 2017 FIM EnduroGP World Championship.

With both Loïc and Jamie well in contention for the titles in their respective classes, the British EnduroGP will be crucial for the Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team. Larrieu will wrap up the 2017 season taking part in the last round of the French Enduro Championship in Ambert on September 30, October 1.

The Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team also had the pleasure to welcome a special guest during this weekend's penultimate round of the French Enduro Championship in Requista. Winning the AMV ASSURANCE contest, Rémy had the chance to experience the life of a works rider for a whole weekend. Entering a round of the French Enduro Championship for the first time in his life, Rémy had the opportunity to race Jamie McCanney's WR250F machine in the Veteran's class of the series. Enjoying the full support of the Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team, Rémy lived an experience to be cherished for the years to come.

Marc Bourgeois - Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team manager
"Loïc had an exceptional weekend. Our plan going into this round of the French championship was to allow him to get some more racing miles. Without any particular pressure he went out there and got two more victories dominating the field throughout the weekend. With the battle for the coveted EnduroGP World Championship title still undecided, it was very important for us that Loïc remained mistake-free during the weekend in Requista. We're really happy with his performance. This weekend, we also gave the chance to Rémy to live the experience of a lifetime. As the winner of the AMV contest, Rémy got to race our works WR250F machine. Feeling quite emotional at the end of the event, he was extremely satisfied to have lived such an experience with us. Our focus now is on the coming weekend and the penultimate round of the EnduroGP World Championship in England. Our goal is to help Jamie take the lead in the Enduro 2 class, while also doing our best so that Loïc can reach the top step of the podium before heading to the big final in Germany."

Loïc Larrieu – Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team rider
"It was a great event for me. The special tests were amazing and I think there was something there to please every rider. From my side, the major priority was to stay safe and save energy for the coming weekend. When racing at such a top level it's always hard to save energy by probably staying off the gas. It was a learning experience for me and I'm happy I managed to come out on top on both days of racing in Requista. We now have a safe advantage in the championship so the stress levels will be reduced heading to the big final in Ambert at the end of this month. We now head to England for the penultimate round of the EnduroGP series. It's an event I'm really looking forward to. I will try my best to get the best possible results during the weekend at Hawkstone Park."

The Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team will be back in action in round seven of the FIM EnduroGP World Championship in Hawkstone Park on September 23/24. We would like to thank AMV ASSURANCE for our great collaboration in Requista.
