Enduro GP of Great Britain Loïc Larrieu & Jamie McCanney On The Podium At Hawkstone Park Enduring a challenging round seven of the 2017 EnduroGP World Championship in the United Kingdom, Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team riders Loïc Larrieu and Jamie McCanney shared a class podium each during both days of racing at the EnduroGP of Great Britain. With the championship returning to the United Kingdom for the first time after almost 10 years, all competitors were faced with a unique race format that featured a sprint enduro event on Saturday and then a three-hour-long cross-country race on Sunday. Following his winning results at the 2017 International Six Days Enduro and at the last round of the French Enduro Championship, Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team's Loïc Larrieu arrived in the United Kingdom with high hopes. Struggling to get the best possible race pace in the sandy and treacherous terrain, the WR450F mounted rider wrapped up the weekend with a fourth place result during Saturday's sprint enduro and a podium third in Sunday's GNCC-styled event. Remaining second in the EnduroGP class' championship standings, Loïc is now 40 points behind the provisional leader Steve Holcombe as the series heads to Germany for the last round of 2017.
Marc Bourgeois - Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team manager "We arrived at the British GP hoping that our two riders could continue their battles for the titles in EnduroGP and Enduro 2, but we were faced with a challenging GP. Jamie was not able to show his real potential and that came while he was looking to take advantage of his home GP to gain the lead in the Enduro 2 points standings. He is still second in the championship and 13 points behind Garcia, so things will be tight in the big final in Germany. Loïc did the best he could but it just wasn't enough. Due to his very busy racing schedule during the last couple of weeks he was physically exhausted and that didn't help during the weekend. I'm really proud of all the work both Jamie and Loïc have been putting in this season and I'm hoping they will be rewarded for that. Battling through a tough weekend we are still in contention for the titles in both classes and anything can happen. I'm just hoping Loïc and Jamie will be able to get the results they deserve in Germany.” Loïc Larrieu – Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team rider "This weekend we were faced with a new race format and it was nothing like we expected it to be. I thought the tracks would be more fast and flowing and that would have possibly been a big advantage for my WR450F machine. As soon as the race started I saw that it would be a lot more complicated. The tracks soon got destroyed and the woods sections had many tricky parts where it was crucial to keep your wheels turning. There were lots of slippery roots as well. It was a physically demanding event and I did my best to salvage as more points as possible. We're now 40 points behind the provisional class leader so it's going to be difficult to make up for that deficit in Germany. In saying that, I will do my best to end the season on a high and maintain my good runner-up position in the final standings. This coming weekend I will try to secure the title in the French Enduro Championship and then my plan is to take some well-needed rest before Germany.” Jamie McCanney - Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team rider "It was a challenging weekend for us. I've
worked very hard to prepare for my home GP but
things did not go as planned and I felt weak
throughout the weekend. I really don't know what
was the reason for that. I really wanted to do
well in my home GP but I suffered stomach pains
and weakness during the weekend. Probably training
very hard prior to the event might not have been
the best idea. We take the positives out of a
tough weekend and we are already focusing on the
big final in Germany. I'm 13 points behind class
leader Josep Garcia in the championship standings
and I will give my best in the season finale in
October.” Detailed results and standings from the World
