Holcombe wins the second round of the Italian Championship in Sanremo.
Steve Holcombe won the 2nd round of the Italian Enduro Championship in Sanremo last weekend. The British and EnduroGP World Champion dominated the race from start to finish. Fellow Beta team rider Alex Salvini was the runner up. The Bolognese won the opening round of Passirano and he was happy to consolidate his championship leadership The 3rd step of the podium was occupied by an Matteo Cavallo who also won the Junior class against the championship leader Andrea Verona. Davide Guarneri and Brad Freeman complete the top five. The Sanremo weekend was characterized by both a beautiful spring sun and a strong wind that did not make things easy for the boys of the Motoclub Sanremo who, between yesterday and today, worked hard to keep the specials standing. Specials that have turned out, besides being really suggestive for the landscapes that they offered, very hard. The Extreme Test X-CUP Maxxis-Galfer was developed on a crust of natural rock, the Enduro Test Just1 saw the 234 athletes go into the Ligurian woods at over 1000 meters high while the Airoh Cross Test lay on the golden Arma di Taggia beach. Four laps completed (three for the Italian Cup) for a total of fifty minutes of time. The Sanremo trial was also characterized by a large audience that animated both today's specials and the paddock yesterday, with the autograph session that has attracted great interest among fans. The next round of the national championship is 7-8 April in Castiglion Fiorentino - AR. Calendar photo (G.Chillemi)
