Steve Holcombe wins at Colle di Tora

There was a real battle today at Colle di Tora for the fifth round of the Italian Championship between Steve Holcombe, Alex Salvini and Eero Remes. At the end of a long day Steve took the win by eight seconds ahead of Salvini with Remes in third place - just 4/100s of a second off the World Championship leader.s time.

In all classes there were close fights with victories going to Niccolò Scarpelli (125), Gianluca Martini (250 2t), Davide Soreca (300), Manuel Monni (250 4t), Alex Salvini (450), Andrea Verona (Junior), Claudio Spanu (Youth).

On Day 2 the tests were very muddy and wet on the first lap due to the rain that fell on the first day, The Motoclub Valturano . The day continued under a warm sun that slowly dried the ground.

Steve Holcombe dominated the second day of the Italian Championship to take the highest step of the podium with Eero Remes in second and Brad Freeman. The win placed Steve at the top of the standings - one point ahead of Alex Salvini.

The class winners for the sixth round of the championship were Giacomo Marmi (125), Maurizio Micheluz (250 2t), Davide Soreca (300), Manuel Monni (300), Alex Salvini (450), Matteo Cavallo (Junior), Claudio Spanu (Youth) and Steve Holcombe (Stranieri).

Results - Standings 

The next round is on the 7th and 8th July in Bettola (PC) with a spectacular prologue on Saturday evening from 18.30, while Sunday the race will start at 9.00.
