Sherco scoops 4 BEC titles

Last weekend saw the final round of the British Enduro Championship take place at Longmoor Camp, Nr. Liphook, Surrey. The famous Natterjack Enduro has taken place for many years now and is a favourite venue and one not to be missed by any enduro rider. It was a brilliant weekend for all the MRS Sherco team riders with the final result of the overall championship bringing the Sherco team no less than four Championship titles.

Furthermore Jack Edmondson took second place overall, which was a brilliant result with him moving from a 125 2T last year on to a 3.0 4T which is no mean feat for the young rider. As an official Sherco Factory rider Jack had a great weekend, winning one of the tests and consistently riding well to bring home the runner up spot. Just to cap it off he was also crowned the 2018 E2 Champion. Also riding for the Sherco factory is young Dan Mundell on his 125 Sherco who came away with the E1/2 title in the Championship class. In the Expert Class Aaron Gordon won the E1/2 title and Richard Tucker, riding his 2.5 4T took glory in the E1/4.

Jack Edmondson – “The Natterjack went really well for me. I managed to go 2 – 2 overall and secure 2nd in the Championship behind Danny. Along with 1st in the E2 category. I feel like I started the season pretty steady but as the year went on I got more comfortable with the new Sherco 300, which I think has shown in my results in the second half of the year.

I’m really happy with how the British Enduro Championship has gone and I’m looking forward to next year already, knowing we can challenge for the overall victory. Thanks to all at MRS and Sherco for their great support.”

Dan Mundell – “Unfortunately I was forced to miss the penultimate round at Rhayader due to illness giving me zero points. I knew I had to win both days in the 125 class to claim the 2018 125 British Enduro Championship, so the pressure was on a little bit! However, that said, I was feeling confident off the back of a solid ride at the Italian GP and I had full faith in my new 2019 Sherco SE-R 125!

The bike was great all weekend and never missed a beat! I’m really happy to pick up a title for myself and Sherco….hopefully the first of many! I just want to say a quick thanks to the Rathmell family and my family/girlfriend for looking after me at all of the BECs also the Sherco Factory for their support.”

Aaron Gordon – “At the last round of the British Enduro Championship last weekend I had a couple of issues which affected my result. That said it was good to ride in it and I came away with a 3rd and 4th outright and 2nd in class on both days, with a couple of good test times which I was pleased with.

With a lot learnt this season on a new bike and team, the Championship ended up as a bit of a rollercoaster ride with a couple of outright wins, some seconds and some lower placed results. All in all it’s been very enjoyable getting my second year of enduro under my belt.

I’m looking forward to advancing onto a bigger bike for 2019 to challenge for the overall title in a very competitive class.”

Richard Tucker – “The Natterjack was a good weekend, it was nice to ride a bit of a different terrain for a change, the sand bowl was fun! I didn’t get the results I was looking for but I ended up finishing 4th overall in expert and 1st E1/4 in the Championship which I am really happy with.

The Championship has been really enjoyable and I’ve learnt a lot throughout the year!”

It has been a brilliant season for all the MRS Sherco riders and everyone is now looking forward to the WESS event at Hawkstone Park on the 22nd and 23rd September. This event is being run by Sherco dealer Paul Edmondson under the Fast Eddy banner and MRS will be in attendance with new 2019 bikes on display. Many of the team will be taking part in this event over the weekend and everyone is looking forward to riding at this iconic venue.
