JAY FLIES TO VICTORY.

For Lincolnshire enduro clubs 2018 swansong race, and for the first time ever, they ventured out of the county and into neighbouring Nottinghamshire. Taking place on land at the Bevercoates Moto X park, and utilising most of said track, the event attracted well over a 100 riders once more. Whilst the race produced one of the shortest laps of the season, it was also one of the quickest. Described as an "Enduro Sprint", many of the local (very quick) Moto X lads turned up, either to dip their toes into the enduro world, or indeed to try and stamp their authority on longer races.

Beavercoates itself has indeed a very long and fruitful history behind it. Used back in the 1960's when the sport was called "Scrambling", races there were even broadcast on national television (on something called a Black and White TV !!) Over the years the track has hosted several AMCA championship rounds and also an international IMBA race to boot. The first official enduro run in the arena was in the late 1990's and won by a certain Rob Meek. Rob had even more fame as he had a hat trick of wins in the infamous beach race at Weston super mare. Beavercoates now sees several Moto X races in the year run by the Ollerton MX club. Details

If the LEC runs an event or two at the place in 2019, we will be post Brexit. Hopefully we won't need our passports to go across the border !!

Winner on the day (Experts class) was LEC regular Jay Brooker. Jay's extra lap was enough to seal victory over Brad Lilburn (2nd) and Sam Bradley (3rd). Looking at the time sheets though, only a few seconds per lap separated these super quick lads over the 3 hours. Closer still was the battle for the Clubman class win. With exactly the same average lap times as his rival, Sam Vickers came out on top. However, it was very marginal; by just two seconds to runner up Jake Wright. Local man Colin Conduit (And Ollerton MX club chairman no less) won the over 40's class. Colin's lap count equated to second place man mark Connole's but was a little under a minute quicker. Still pretty close over 180 minutes of racing though. Sean Woffindon won the ever popular over 50's group, this time a full lap in front of fast finishing Andy Jackson. Similarly, in the Sportsman 2T class, a full lap separated winner Michael Weir from Ethan Champion. Comparatively, there was massive void between winner Joe Tapper and his nearest rival Niall Bowker in the Sportsman 4T class. On the same amount of laps they may have been, but one whole minute split them !! Once again, Kev Bartle Sr won the Trail and Classic class.

As this was the last race of the season, the club would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all the back room staff who help run the club. There are the guys who help put the event actually on the ground in the days and weeks before race day, and those who dismantle the track afterwards too. There are the race marshals, both static and roving. Ticktock timing have helped to perfect the race results (their service is far better than the old school method of pen, paper and clipboard!).Details

The first aiders have also been second to none. Obviously, the club hopes these guys never have to be used but they are always there when needed. Details

Last but not least, and every ones favourite, "Rosie's country kitchen" that keeps everybody fed and watered. Details

Heres looking forward to 2019 folks
