Will Ruprecht dominates the first day of Custonaci

Ahead of Australian teammate Matteo Cavallo and the returning Thomas Oldrati

It was the Australian Will Ruprecht, riding Team Boano's TM 300 4T, who took a clear victory on the first Sicilian day in Custonaci (TP). The second round of the Italian Enduro Championship of Italy Borilli Racing - Ufo Plast, started today at 8:30 sharp from the stage set up by the Motoclub Custonaci, in the industrial area of ??the homonymous town. Waving the checkered flag of the start were the Councilor of the Sicily Region Salvatore Cordaro and the Mayor of Custonaci Giuseppe Morfino who therefore started the long and exciting day of competition, wishing the organizers that: "We can get to organize a World Championship race on these wonderful courses ".

The 163 starters actually found, waiting for them immediately after the start, some truly wonderful routes seasoned with breathtaking views that accompanied them for almost 200 km in total and 12 hard-fought specials.
The round of eight, prepared by the men of President Alfredo Castiglione, included two COs, located in the assistance paddock, and three special stages; the first stage that the enduro riders faced was the Scott Enduro Test, after about five minutes from the start. According to the pilots, the line, in the Cucchi area, was the most complete and fun special: not only stones and undergrowth to characterize the enduro test but also the slimy created by the strong night humidity. After the test, a long transfer brought the athletes back to the paddock for the half-lap stop before the insidious Extreme X-CUP Motocross Marketing - Galfer which saw as the absolute protagonist the British of the Betamotor Brad Freeman who thus jumped to the command of the special trophy to decree the best of the season in this dreaded type of PS. The last special to be traveled by the athletes was the tape. The Airoh Cross Test featured a hard clay surface with few fixed stones and the fastest of the day was overall winner Will Ruprecht.
The first spring sun was not enough to warm up drivers and companions who, in this first race of the Sicilian stage, had to deal with an annoying wind which strengthened with the passing of the laps, just like the gap of the winner of the day. The Australian managed to take the lead right from the first lap and maintain the lead for the whole day except after the second special in which, thanks to a crash in the extreme, he gave way to his fellow Team Macoritto.

Matteo Cavallo

Team Boano who is not satisfied only with the absolute performance of Ruprecht but also showcases the policeman Matteo Cavallo, second overall and winner of three special stages. The pilot of the Fiamme Oro wins the 250 4t class which does not see the arrival order of the first three change compared to the first in Passirano: second place for Andrea Verona (GASGAS) not yet incisive after the passage to the Austrian brand, third the ex cross rider Samuele Bernardini (Honda).

Thomas Oldrati (Honda RedMoto) immediately placed himself on the absolute podium after returning from a forced stop due to a thumb problem, trailing Belgian Antoine Magain (Sherco) by just 2 seconds. The man from Bergamo wins the first duel of the season between him and Alex Salvini (Honda S2 Motosport) in the 450 class in which Nicola Recchia (GASGAS) completes the podium.

In fifth position we find another color holder of Team TM Boano Lorenzo Macoritto who takes home the second consecutive victory in the 250 2T. Following Macoritto, more than two minutes later, Maurizio Micheluz and (Husqvarna - Osellini) and Guido Conforti (Husqvarna).

Davide Guarneri

The 125 is the affair of the stainless Davide Guarneri (Fantic - E50) who commands full points on the very Sicilian Giuliano Mancuso (Fantic - D'Arpa Racing), second both in Passirano and in the first of Custonaci. Lowest step of the podium for Patrick Grigis (GASGAS).

Interesting challenge in the 300 class where the winner is Thomas Marini (TM - Team Boano) from San Marino, who was good at straightening the score with Rudy Moroni (KTM - Proracing Sport), only third today. Second place for Gianluca Martini (Betamotor).
Matteo Pavoni (TM - Team Boano) wins and convinces in Junior by sending a clear signal to his rivals Manolo Morettini (KTM Proracing Sport) and Claudio Spanu (Husqvarna - Osellini). Among the very young of the Youth Riccardo Fabris (Fantic - Jet) wins for just 5 seconds over the fast Gabriele Pasinetti (Beta) and 12 over his teammate Daniele Del Bono.

Remaining among the youngsters, Enrico Rinaldi (GASGAS - GTG Motogamma) still triumphs in the Eleveit Trophy, commanded with full points.
In the ranking reserved for motoclubs, Fiamme Oro triumphs, followed by Lake Iseo and Sebino, while among the Independent Teams round 2 goes to Team Osellini.

Filippo Moletta

Second consecutive victory for Filippo Moletta (Husqvarna) both in the absolute of the day and in the Senior class of the Italian Cup Borilli Racing-Ufo Plast 2021. Among the Majors Mirko Colombo (KTM) once again wins, preceding Luca Loss (Husqvarna) and Giorgio Puglisi (Beta. In Junior we find Federico Trabucco (KTM) in first place and Beccafichi Alessio (KTM) in second. Among the youngest, Alessandro Guerra (GASGAS) in Cadets and Manuel Verzeroli (Valenti) in Code.

Alessandro Talamo (Husqvarna) in 4 Strokes and Davide Pitzoi (Sherco) in 2 Strokes win in the FMI Borilli Racing-Ufo Plast 2021 Cup.
