Ruprecht conquers Fabriano and increases his lead of the Italian Championship

Steve Holcombe, on his return, finished second ahead of Brad Freeman.

Team TM Racing Boano Australian Will Ruprecht wins the 6th round of the Absolute Championship of Italy Enduro Borilli Racing – Ufo Plast 2021 staged on Sunday 16 May in Fabriano (AN), in the heart of marche.

Seven years after the last time the Absolutes landed again in one of the most fruitful centers of craftsmanship, famous for the production of paper, where the now historic Moto Club Artiglio presented an impeccable race, the second of the three single-day stages of the twenty-twenty-one championship.

As many as 235 drivers arrived in Fabriano from all parts of Italy and... of the world! Boom of foreigners in this sixth test that record a wonderful and prestigious record: 38 foreign class members with 13 nations represented!

Despite the day of uggiosa, with the plumbeo sky threatening the heads of riders and escorts, the organization did not have to deal with the rain problem, arrived but in a light way, and the president of the Marche association, Luca Bartoccetti, was able to manage both the preliminary operations, on Saturday, and the race, on Sunday, in the best way.

Great effort of the MC Artiglio that supported by Moto Club Ragni, Castel Raimondo, Matelica and the municipality of Fabriano has conceived a traditional enduro lap worthy of a race of this level.

The route of the XX° Memorial Massimo Roani, 54km long, was repeated four times, and presented three special tests: the first to be faced by the athletes, after about 20 minutes from the start, was the Scott Enduro Test, a track completely similar to the World Championship test held in July 2016. The line, which became slimy due to rain, was the only special of the first race sector and branched out into an undergrowth.

At the beginning of the second sector was the Airoh Cross Test, in San Michele, about 10km from the paddock. The fettucciato, wide with clayey soil, was rich in counter-effects, climbs and descents that together with the rain pitfalls defied the athletes before the last PS: the Extreme Test "X-CUP Motocross Marketing – Galfer".

The extreme special, with a high technical rate with several artificial obstacles to overcome, was not addressed by the members of the Coppa Italia.

Fabriano is confirmed as a land of conquest for foreigners: after the late Finn Mika Ahola, winner in 2011, and the French Jhonny Aubert, first in 2016, to win the test of the 2021 season is the Australian Will Ruprecht!

Team Boano's bishop, also winner in the X-CUP Motocross Marketing – Galfer Trophy, puts his fourth victory at the 2021 Absolutes on the board and creates the void in the general classification where, now, the championship leader, can enjoy a comforting +16 against Brad Freeman, third overall in today's race. Ahead of Freeman, in second place overall, we find compatriot and teammate Steve Holcombe, returning after the injury that kept him out of competition for more than two months and immediately victorious in the special.

Although the attacks of the two Englishmen have become overbearing, especially in the fourth and last lap of the race, the Australian riding the TM 300 4t has been able to better manage the advantage accumulated throughout the day and has thus reconfirmed his magical moment, just one month after the first round of the World Championship.

Matteo Cavallo (TM – Boano), the first of the Italians in the race, finished in fifth place overall, behind a very fast Theo Espinasse (Honda RedMoto). The gold flame driver won his fifth victory of the season in the 250 4t, this time with a touch of luck dictated by an error, in the final special, of Andrea Verona (GASGAS) who was in second place overall before entering the extreme fourth. Third place for Davide Soreca (Husqvarna JET Racing).

Two more victories for Team Boano with Lorenzo Macoritto, first in the 250 2t over the veteran Maurizio Micheluz (Husqvarna – Osellini) and guido Conforti (Husqvarna), and Matteo Pavoni in the Junior where, after the withdrawal of day 2 of Piediluco, he wins important points on Manolo Morettini (KTM – Pro Racing Sport) and Claudio Spanu (Husqvarna – Osellini). Only sixth among juniors the winner of the Eleveit Trophy Enrico Rinaldi (GASGAS – GTG Motogamma).

Forced withdrawal after a bad fall for Thomas Oldrati (Honda RedMoto) who, thus, gives way to Alex Salvini in the 450 that wins today ahead of where to Nicola Recchia (GASGAS) and Filippo Grimani (Beta – Entrophy).

In the 300 Gian Luca Martini (Betamotor) managed to win with 22 seconds ahead of Thomas Marini (TM – Boano). Michele Bosi finished third on the KTM 300.

Underling race for Davide Guarneri (Fantic – E50Racing) who falls in the first fettucciato of the day and reports some damage to the bike. However, bresciano won the 125 where Giuliano Mancuso (Fantic – D'arpa Racing) and Roberto Rota (KTM) finished second and third respectively.

Riccardo Fabris (Fantic – Jet Racing) returns to victory in the fierce Youth. The championship leder wins over the E Racing team's colour-bearer Daniele Delbono and Gabriele Pasinetti (Beta FR Motorsport).

Sebino wins the special classification reserved for Moto Clubs in front of Lake Iseo and Trial David Fornaroli while among the independent teams a solo victory for Osellini.

In the Coppa Italia Borilli Racing – Ufo Plast absolute victory for Michele Moretti (KTM) who also wins in the Senior class over championship leader Filippo Moletta (Husqvarna) and Elia Campagnolo (Honda). Second overall Alessio Beccafichi (Honda), first among juniors ahead of Federico Trabucco (KTM) and Luca Giacomelli (KTM). Remaining among the young we pass in the Cadet class where Alessandro Guerra (GASGAS) is the best. Second place for Daniele Vaira (Sherco) and third for Simone Angeretti (TM). In the major podium thus composed: Luca Loss (KTM), Marco Luvisetto (GASGAS) and Ivo Zanatta (GASGAS). Luca Colorio (Vent) again won the class 50 over Davide Mei (Valenti) and Luca Piersigilli (Beta).

Andrea Cervellin (Honda – Specia), in the 4 Times, and Andrea Gheza (Beta), in the 2 Times, always dominate the IMF Cup Borilli Racing-Ufo Plast 2021.

The appointment with the #ASSITA2021 now goes to June 6th when, in Sarnico, in the province of Bergamo, the 7th stage of this incredible twenty-one season will take place!
