Steve Holcombe Excited To Begin EnduroGP Title Defence in Portugal

Beta Factory Racing’s Steve Holcombe is ready to defend his EnduroGP crown, getting his 2021 FIM EnduroGP World Championship campaign underway at the series opener in Portugal this coming weekend.

It’s all systems go for the 2021 season as the seven-time world champion begins the defence of both his EnduroGP and Enduro2 world titles on his Beta RR Racing 4T 350.

  • Steve starts EnduroGP and Enduro2 world championship campaigns
  • Brit will compete on the Beta RR Racing 4T 350
  • 2021 FIM EnduroGP World Championship takes place over six, two-day rounds

After a busy, but enjoyable, off-season, all boxes have been ticked in readiness for what Steve hopes will be a successful start to his 2021 world championship campaign. Now entering his second complete year on the Beta 350cc four-stroke, Steve is relaxed and focused ahead of the six-round series.

Mixing his usual thorough training with outings in selected pre-season races, while also squeezing in a trip to Israel for some rider coaching, Steve is feeling refreshed, motivated, and excited for the EnduroGP races ahead.

Winning the opening round of the Italian Enduro Championship in March, Steve recently secured a double victory at the Fast Eddy Cross-Country in England, at the iconic and physically demanding Hawkstone Park circuit.

Delivering a strong pace on varied terrain, Steve’s goal is to maintain that winning form in Portugal this weekend and make a positive start to his 2021 EnduroGP campaign.

The 2021 FIM EnduroGP World Championship begins in Marco de Canaveses, Portugal on June 18-20.

Steve Holcombe: “I can’t wait to go racing this weekend. It’s been a relatively good off-season and that’s left me in a very good place heading into Portugal. Racing again on the 350F is great. Having won the EnduroGP title last year, it showed us that our base point for the bike was where it needed to be, so we’ve just worked on improvements here and there, to develop things further. Winning the pre-season races I rode has been a welcomed confidence boost and most recently Hawkstone Park showed how strong the bike is in the sand, conditions we’ll see a few times this year. With seven titles now, obviously the goal is to aim for another. The championship is looking stacked, but if anything, that will make for some incredible racing. I’m excited to get stuck in!”
