Steve Holcombe to Race GNCC for the Liqui Moly Beta Racing
Team
Beta Factory Racing’s Steve Holcombe will compete in the opening three
rounds of the 2022 AMA Grand National Cross Country Series, starting with this
weekend’s round one of the 13-event
championship, the Big Buck GNCC in Union, South Carolina. Remaining in the
States until the middle of March, Steve will also compete in the Wild Boar GNCC
in Palatka, Florida, and then the General GNCC in Washington, Georgia, before
returning home to England.
• Steve Holcombe to make US GNCC debut this weekend
• Seven-time EnduroGP champ to race opening three GNCC rounds
• US GNCC adventure begins this weekend in Union, South Carolina
With the opening round of the 2022 FIM EnduroGP World Championship not taking
place until the beginning of May, Steve is finally able to mix-up his pre-season
training and racing programme and commit to an extended period in the USA. Using
his time in the States to experience GNCC racing for the first time, Steve will
also spend time training and testing with the Liqui Moly Beta USA team between
events.

Diving into the US GNCC series for the first time, Steve knows that he has a
lot to learn during his participation in the opening three rounds of the 2022
championship. Although much more at home racing special tests against the clock,
Steve does have some three-hour racing experience, which he hopes will serve him
well.
Steve’s US GNCC experience starts tomorrow, February 20, at the Big Buck
GNCC in Union, South Carolina.
Steve Holcombe: “Being able to come to America and experience
first-hand what it’s like to compete in a few GNCC events is something that I’ve
wanted to do for a number of years. Until now I’ve just not been able to make
it happen. I’m really excited to finally be here, and I’m really looking
forward to getting racing. Honestly, I know that this will be a big learning
curve for me. I’ve raced some threehour events in the UK before, but I
know that I’ve signed up for something very different here over the next few
weeks. I can’t wait. My expectations are pretty mellow – I have a huge
amount of respect for the US GNCC regulars, and I have to remember that this is
part of my build-up to the EnduroGP World Championship. But if I can, I’ll mix
it with the boys as best I can. It’s really about experiencing something new,
doing the best I can, enjoying being a part of a different race series, and
getting to race and train with new riders. It’s been great so far, so I’m
really looking forward to the Big Buck this weekend. I want to thank Beta USA,
Carlen Gardner, Evan Smith, and everyone back at the factory in Italy for making
this happen
