Zachary Pichon and Antoine Magain Spanish Enduro Champions!

The official Sherco riders, Zachary Pichon and Antoine Magain are triumphant in the Spanish Enduro Championship.

The Enduro de Santiago de Compostela which was the last round of the 2022 Spanish Enduro Championship was held this past weekend in Galicia.

The Sherco riders, Zachary Pichon and Antoine Magain, who were the clear leaders of the championship, arrived in Santiago de Compostela with opportunity to win the title, although the double race would not be easy because of the rain that left a very challenging muddy course with deep ruts. It should be noted that the last day scored double points.

On Friday afternoon the Super Test was held next to the Verónica Boquete stadium. Zach Pichón had the third best scratch time for this test.

On saturday, the rain continued to complicate the specials, the conditions were difficult and challenging but our two French riders are more accustomed to these conditions than most of the other competitors. Zachary Pichon and Antoine Magain were very motivated, setting good times and battling for the lead of the race, Pichon finished in the second position on the scratch podium and his teammate Magain, in the third.

Antoine Magain, proved to be the fastest rider in the Enduro-1 class, which after the eleven special stages on Saturday, took the first position. Zachary Pichon won the victory in Junior Open, the recently proclaimed Junior World Champion, rode an impeccable race, to finish on the top step of the podium.

On Sunday, the positions were reversed after Magain took second place on the final podium, while Pichon finished third in the scratch classification. Antoine also returned to take the victory in the Enduro-1 class, in a season that has gone from strength to strength, winning the title of Champion of Spain for 2022. In fact, Pichon has won all the races of the 2022 Championship, deservedly taking home another title for Sherco, in this case as Champion of Spain in Junior Open, as well as taking third place in the final scratch

Jordan Curvalle, team manager :
"Our initial plan was to have Hamish Macdonald compete in the Spanish Championship, but after the first two rounds of the Italian Championship, Hamish was in the lead and Antoine Magain, our Italian rider, was out of action in Italy due to an injury.

Once Antoine recovered, we decided to have him race the Spanish championship! In the end it turned out to be a good decision, it allowed him to go for the title in E1 competing on his 250SE.

We decided to have Zach Pichon work on developing a good base and have some more training before the opening round of the Spanish championship and his racing season in the World Championship and the French Championship. He started out strong in the opening round with a victory in junior and a 4-3 in Scratch, we therefore decided to have him continue racing the Spanish championship in addition to the other races on his schedule. This national junior title but above all this third place in scratch rewards Zach with a superb first season in enduro and allowed him to accumulate some great experience for the future".

Zach Pichon:
"It's the end of a great season! Another weekend with complicated conditions. I finished P1 junior, P2 scratch on Saturday and P1 junior, P3 scratch on Sunday despite a huge crash where I lost more than 35 seconds and even damaged the bike. I'm happy with my weekend, I gained some great experience in some very difficult conditions.

A huge thank you to the whole Spanish Sherco team for the way they welcomed me this season and thank you to everyone who provided their support this weekend and throughout the season."
